Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

And we're not even including Hummel in this discussion. Is he doing alright?
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I thought Hummel doesn't count since Novak doesn't either?

No one is saying Painter can't develop players. We are saying JJ didn't progress during his true freshman year and it would have been stupid to question him as a player just as it's stupid to question Elston for not progressing in the middle of the season. JJ started the season as a starter. Then was getting 17-20 minutes off the bench. By the end of the Big Ten season he was barely playing. He totaled 56 minutes in the last 5 Big Ten games COMBINED. He also managed all of 2 blocked shots during those last 5 games.

I'll take the statistics over your fuzzy college memory from 3 years ago.

And I'll take watching every single game for the past 3 years over you looking at the box score.

You also probably think that Scott Martin was better than JuJuan Johnson?

And how didn't he progress? Did you watch the NCAA tournament game that he played? That'd be a certain sign of progression.

Matt Painter is vastly superior to Tom Crean in all facets of coaching basketball. Crean is an overly tanned overrated coached who can't develop big men. Matt Painter was placed on this earth by God to lead Purdue to great things. There Cam we're done discussing.

And in your memory he played 20 min/game and got on the floor whenever he wanted. Apparently he wanted 11 minutes/game.

Ya know what. I've switched sides. Fuck box scores. I'm with you Cam. JJ was so much better in his 11 minutes/game than he was earlier in the year when he was making some sort of contribution to the team.

Well, he played 14 min/game in B10 play (a whole 2 min less than his overall numbers), and that includes games in which is in foul trouble.

And I agree, fuck box scores, they aren't the end all, be all of basketball.

JJ made contributions to the team all year long. If you don't think that, then you obviously didn't watch many Purdue games that year.

lol

Yes, those are my sentiments exactly. And that's exactly what I've said in this thread.

Why is this thread so very off topic?
Because some people can't take an opinion/thought from a fan of another team.

When that happens, they get on the offensive and it becomes what we have now.

obat's mancrush.
I said I like one of his songs...if that makes him my man-crush, then so be it.

Maybe if I was a trust-fund baby like you, I could afford more CDs, eh?

You get my point.

My internet connection isn't that great at home, so basically I listen to the radio. Not sure why this is being made into a big deal...
