That is griggin sweet. I'm watching Duke vs. IU tonight (after American Idol of course). I'm getting chills thinking about Moye blocking Boozer right now. |

After watching a lot of basketball this year and some of the past games on here, I think its 100% that Evil's rants about college basketball being down is absolutely wrong. The top 5-10 teams of this year could play in all of the years' past Final Fours. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

I watched the 1987 IU vs Syracuse National Title game a couple time this year and IMO there is no way the top 5 teams can compete with those teams. Purdue would get beat by at least 12 by both those teams. During that era, teams usually had five scorers in double figures. Purdue only has three. Duke is rated 5th and they only have 3 scorers in double figures as well. I believe IU's 1992-1994 team had 5 guys in double figures. This is just my opinion and I personally think college basketball was much better back then. I do think during the era of 2000 - 2009 Purdue and the top 5 were just as good, if not better. I think Evil maybe talking about the late 80's to early 90's timeframe before you had high school players going straight to the pros and then the one and done rule. I've watched quite a few games from the 80s and 90s on the B10 network. The team's playing this year would have no problem playing those teams. I don't think the amount of double figure scorers is the end all be all. |

it's two complete different eras of college basketball. personally i think that IU '87 would probably get trounced by the best teams of today due to the amazing athleticism that's present in the modern game. college basketball was different back then. that's no knock on the players of the '87 Hoosiers, they just didn't have the resources that are available to young players today. |
