Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I'll give him another year, then back on the search.

I go to a Michigan game every year with my cousin whether it's Penn St., Notre Dame, or tOSU. Would be nice if they would start pulling it together a bit.

well, as IU fans at least we don't have a scumbag as a coach. Just a terrible one.

You know what is funny about this is that they completed the investigation in like 6 months when it is two years and counting for USC.

Much easier to investigate something like this than what has supposedly happened at USC.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Rich Rod is a disgrace to the Big Ten. From recruiting other B10 coaches recruits (ahem, Roy Roundtree) to calling out other B10 schools and them not getting the same penalties called as his team got called for (ahem, US) in a press conference, to the whole WVU deal (contract buyouts, burning files, etc) this guy is not a class act.

Brings a bad vibe and tarnishes the clean image of our conference.

I don't like the guy much, but he's not the only B10 coach that recruits committed players from other B10 teams.

On Tuesday, the coach said if the football staff misinterpreted NCAA rules, "That's on us."

This fucking asshole always says shit like this. He acts like he takes responsibility while at the same time makes bullshit excuses.

I think that Dick Rod is a sleazy douche, and i wouldn't be surprised if this was the tip of the iceberg. Having said that, it is only fair to note a couple things. First, as Cam said he is not the only coach to recruit commited players - B10 or otherwise. Also, i would bet there there are a number, if not a majority of teams that don't follow the letter or the spirit of the law when it comes to off season training. These coaches constantly push the limit on how much they can get away with in terms of off-season contact and control.

He is definitely in the minority. Who else do you think does it? I'm talking about verbally committed players then being recruited.

I know for a fact that this year Bielema pulled a kid from Purdue to go to UW, but thats really the first other incident I've known about. I'm sure there are others, but lets not get into the misunderstanding that this is a common thing. Its not.

The B10 coaches have an unwritten agreement, or did once upon a time, that this sort of thing is a rarity and is not looked highly upon in conference. I know this shit goes on in other conferences, like the Big East where Dick Rod is from, but not the B10.
