Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Im sure there have been some big upsets this year but this has to rank up there.

Maybe I see this as a bigger upset personally because ive seen them play and have seen in person just how bad Evansville was this year.

That's going to hurt NIU's seed in the tournament. They were possibly looking at that 5-7 seed.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Im not sure who else they could have got? This is a really young team and there top 5 scorers are Freshamn and Soph so in 2 years I think they with be a top 5 MVC team. I dont remember exactly what there record was last year but I believe they were around 500

...i will give you that Steve Merfeld was the original massive mistake...but i really don't think Simmons is the answer...

...hopefully i'm wrong...

Is there really an answer to UE?
This has to be a tough sell to recruits, very little tradition, not the greatest facilities, small older campus.

Really tough to win at a place like this.

...Crews took them to the tournament there...last time was 1999...it is definitely possible to win there...U of E is a very good private school education...and Evansville is a decent sized city...i don't see why it would be any worse of a sell than say...Northern Iowa...

Gotta get a guy who can coach. I think any school in the state of Indiana can be successful with the right coach. Lots of talent and the kids know how to play.

UE has only won two games in the Missouri Valley this season...and they were against the two best teams in Northern Iowa and Wichita State. Talk about playing spoiler. Wichita State's bubble burst after losing at UE, and Northern Iowa's seed will take a major blow.

It's amazing how this program at one point was in a conference with teams like Xavier, Dayton, Marquette, Butler, and others. And they not only could compete with all those teams, but they actually won the conference more than once. Now look at all those programs compared to UE. Pretty sad isn't it?
