Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

In light of Obatski and I's recent feud, I think it'd be great to have a "guilty pleasures" thread. This is where you post videos of musicians you've been made fun of for being a fan. God knows there are about 10 million artists I've caught shit for.

I'll start this out with none other than....PHIL...FUCKING....COLLINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't hate.

Can't believe people give you shit for listening to Elvis. I mean, i can understand if you were strictly a gospel elvis fan...but his earlier shit was on top of everything else.

I listen to his early stuff. My friends don't appreciate good music. They would rather listen to rap than bands like the stones, or beatles. I can stand rap sometimes when I am at a bar or club, but that's about it.

i always say, "never write off a whole genre of music." I hate the term "rap" because it attempts to encompass all hip hop musicians. at the end of the day, that'd be like lumping together simon & garfunkle with sheryl crow and dave matthews. Soooooooooo different. (btw, simon and garfunkle are the only above mentions artists i can stand listening to). Anyways, yeah, old elvis is awesome. It's a shame that he ripped off all the black artists back in the day, but that's what everyone was doing i suppose. I love old elvis but i'm an even bigger fan of Chuck Berry. EFF YEAH!

I wouldn't really say him ripping off of the black artists was a bad thing. Considering it was the '50's, the black music never had a chance. Through Elvis, people could hear it. I agree that it is unfortunate that it was that way, but w/o Elvis, we would have never known Hound Dog or That's All Right Momma, etc. He really started the notion that listening to black music was ok, and that we didn't have to settle with Pat Boone's crap.

I am also a huge Chuck Berry fan. Little Richard is awesome too.

Sam Cooke. Some of my friends appreciate his contribution to music, others have given me shit when they've stumbled across him on my iPod. Fuck those guys. Sam Cooke was the man.

Not that I need to incriminate myself anymore, but....

Why stop with music...I'm a big fan of the Twilight series, lol.

Was forced to go to the first one with my ex, and my 12 year old cousin asked me to take her for her birthday so I did, but I've thought they've both been really enjoyable. Looking forward to the 3rd and 4th ones as well

I would hate, but i have thoroughly enjoyed the Harry Potter series - both books and movies. Though i can say that i have never seen nor read twilight and i will most likely never do so.

I like some of his stuff from the 70's, the later stuff not so much.

By the way Bri, good topic. It will be interesting to see what people say. One man's guilty pleasure is another's serendipity.

I enjoyed the books. The movies were eh though for me. And I refuse to contribute in any way to the Twilight craze.
