| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! Did you have a sense of humor when others talked about Sampson's illegal phone calls and the hiring of Crean? Were you completely accepting of Purdue fans' opinions of Crean and what was going to transpire with the program going forward? Purdue fans have been attacked over and over when stating general opinions on such things, and now when you come over here doing the same, you're going to cry foul. Like I said, get off the high horse. Where was the humor in any of this? |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Right well I don't remember a ton of Purdue fans coming over and being sympathetic when we lost Creek for the year. I'm sure some did, Im almost positive some did. Those who did I don't recall any IU fans being so wrapped up in their fucking pity party that they bit Purdue posters' heads off. Pretty sure we were appreciative. You don't have to pick a fight on everything. You could just admit you're being a prick and we'll all move on. Edited by mongo, Feb 28 2010, 10:21 AM.

Oh by the way you're right Cam the situations arent the same. Purdue fans mocked and poked fun of Sampson and even some make fun of Crean. We've taken a lot of shit the last few seasons while you guys have been enjoying a lot of success. Thats fine, thats part of a rivalry. But not one god damn IU fan came over and poked fun about Hummel.

dc, I think it's cool the IU posters are trying to lift Boilers' spirits. There's no reason to rehash the whole Sampson saga. There are still a lot of positives to take forward this season. |

Mongo, now that we're Denny-free, I think you will see the true personalities of the Boiler posters. One asshole can spoil a whole board. |

In his defense, IU wasn't in the race for a conference title or a #1 seed in the NCAA. We are-so losing Hummel is drastically different than IU losing Creek. |

Good point. Track fans aren't usually too distraught when a midget high jumper develops turf toe. |

Yeah thats true. Shit like this happens to teams who are contenders all the time. Yeah we weren't going to accomplish nearly what Purdue has/could this year. But we lost plenty losing Creek. We lost our leading scorer and potentially a decently better finish, so there's a pride factor. It also has longterm repercussions. Creek is going to be probably our star and part of core for the next few years, and entering next year he'll still have played 0 minutes of Big 10 ball. It sucked ass for us too. Whether your injury sucked more or not is irrelevant. My point is there's no need to be a giant dickhead to us. Edited by mongo, Feb 28 2010, 10:55 AM.

I know he created a ton of tension and shit on the board. I think overall Purdue/IU fans keep the rivalry fun and get along great. Its one of the reasons I love this group so much and have been posting with said group since the espn board days. |

Yes, I did have a sense of humor when others talked about Sampson's phone calls. And I still want you to point to exactly where IU fans came over and talked trash about Hummel getting hurt. Lars is completely correct: now that UB is gone, we are seeing the true personalities of Purdue posters. Almost every single one always were good posters and a couple that seemed to be in attack mode because of UB have been able to make the transition. I can only think of one who hasn't. |

Brum, Give DC some space. DC and I often argue and for the most part see the world in completely different lights. DC is a very competitive person even in things he has no control over. We all know people like that. Sometimes life kicks you in the nuts and all you have is a team a show or a friend. I think Purdue Basketball was all those things wrapped in 1 to DC. I love watching the games root for Purdue and get upset when they lose. Purdue going to the final four would be great. Purdue losing in the second round sucks but either way I have to make the donuts on Monday. I live in the South so wearing a Purdue shirt gets little attention. DC works in Indy (I believe) seems like a socially active person and we all know that is IU fan central. So yes this injury hurt DC, just give him some space. In the big picture in life sports are just a distraction, but so are strippers and life is always better with ur team is winning and strippers are in the room. |

Just caught up on this thread. Wow, so much for being sympathetic. How could anyone say an IU fan is on a high horse at a time like this. In fact, most IU fans I know were rooting for Purdue to go deep in the tournament. br |
