Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I paused the recording at the 1:15 mark when we pulled our goalie. I asked my 10 yr old daughter to come over and watch the end of the game, and asked her if a team should ever pull their goalie. She said no, and then we talked about it more, and she agreed it would be a good idea at the end. So I unpaused the DVR and went fucking nuts at the :24 mark when we scored. She thought I had gone mad, but what a great hockey moment to experience!

My voice still hurts this morning. I'm naming my first born son Parise.

I'm not sure if I've ever hugged a guy before, but when they tied the game the 4 of us watching were all running around the apartment screaming and hugging each other. Quite a scene I'm sure.

Well I knew that was coming from somebody, haha.

Oh well, I don't care. That's a moment I'm never going to forget the rest of my life. I've been trying to think of a time when I was that excited watching sports in an instant like that, and I can't think of anything that would surpass it. Maybe him doing it in overtime, but oh well.

I must admit that it was pretty entertaining. One thing I wish though is that they moved the crowd on the camera's side back a few rows, so that you could see the puck when it's up against the wall. Or possibly raised the ice up a few feet from the crowd level.

yeah, you still wouldn't see the puck. what i don't get is why they don't have a camera on the other side of the rink for those situations, then once it's off the boards switch back to the main camera.

The problem with the NHL for the casual fan like me that really only watches the Stanley Cup is that I don't know many of the players out there. So it's hard to get into it for the most part. Plus there's no national pride on the line. I am going to start keeping an eye on Kane, Parise, and Miller though.

Well, it helps if you live near an NHL team as well. That's how most people learn who the players are.

I have to say, though, that going to an NHL game is amazing. It's electric the entire time the game is being played.

I've never been, but I hear they are fantastic. Aren't tickets pretty expensive though? And do you like sitting up a bit higher or down by the glass?

Depending on the team, tickets can be pricey. But, i'd say they're comparable to other live sporting events.

When it comes to hockey, NOTHING, and i mean NOTHING beats sitting down on the glass. Those tickets will run you a lot of money, but it's amazing. especially when people get slammed right in front of you. When I used to go to Nashville Predators games I would sit in the first couple rows of the top level, mid-ice. I could see everything and it was pretty cheap.

Sometimes I'd sit in the "party section" where you pay a lump some and get drinks/food all night. Really good times.

So what is a ticket cost down on the glass, in the "party section", or on the top?

I've never been to the Nashville bars, and me and some buddies have been talking about going. Would be cool to see a predator's game now that I've been infected with hockey fever.

You and your friends may want to refrain from all the hugging until you get back to your room though....... ;)

I watched it but I was hardly ever entertained. the goal with 24 seconds left was pretty cool but it in no way inspired me to watch the overtime, so I didn't. haha.

You should be tortured in a cruel and unusual manner saying that, or forced to leave this country and never return.
