"We need to put a picture of him (Kramer) up in our coaches' office because that's the kind of guy we need to have in our program,'' Crean said after IU's school record-tying 11th straight loss. "Seriously.'' Discuss. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Well then he will have to totally rewrite his recruiting philosophy and start going for good BB players that fit the program, and not GREAT BB players that don't. And he'll have to learn to coach like Painter.............. |

Exactly what great bb players do we have on our roster? And Painter didn't recruit Kramer. Why would you turn a compliment about a Purdue player into a bash on Crean? Kramer fits his role perfectly. Crean recognized him for that. Take the compliment. |

Um, Painter DID recruit Kramer. And, my statement was focused on Crean because it was his quote. U made my point-there are no "Great" players on your team. He spent loads of time and effort recruiting out of state blue-chippers and didn't get any, and some of that effort could have been spent on good players he was more likely to land and better fit his program. Kicking a cripled dog is pointless. The Dog feels no pain and you look silly doing it. IU is down and I hope Crean keeps doing what he is doing. |

If I'm wrong on that, I'm wrong. It doesn't change the fact that Tom Crean compliments a Purdue player and all this thread has done is give him crap. And it's so incredibly cool that I stated that Kramer fits his role perfectly and the compliment gets swept under the rug in the responses as well. Last I looked everyone was rating Crean's first real class as a very solid one and not one in which he had five star players who would be one and dones. |

Brum, thats one person that has turned it into a Crean bashing. I thought it was a great quote, and very complimentary. Just found it interesting considering the crap that a guy like Kramer has got from the IU faithful over the years, especially when Sampson was there. |

Agreed, and that's all I was getting at. Besides, Crean made the quote, not you so don't take credit for saying something good about Kramer. All I have ever heard from you IU fans is how terrible Kramer is and that he gets so much attention that is not deserved. Then here comes your almighty head coach regurgitating pretty much what we have all said for the past 4 years. I didn't bash Crean at all. I was stating the fact that if he wants to get guys like Kramer then he needs to change his recruiting strategy thats all. |

My quote: "Chris Kramer fits his role perfectly." Yeah.....I didn't say something good about Kramer and all you ever have heard from IU fans is how terrible Kramer is. Secondly, read my posts on Our Hoosier Blog and the data I use to talk about how efficient an offensive player Kramer is. My system rated him as the fifth most efficient offensive player in the conference last time I ran it. From that article: 5. Kramer, Purdue 1.23. Yes, that Kramer. He may only get 6 points a game, but he takes only good shots and his assist to turnover ratio is among the best in the conference. |

Crean obviously doesn't think much of Kramer. If he did, he would have said he reminded him of Dwayne Wade. |
