Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I think Syracuse, KU, UK, and Duke have 1 seeds all but locked up. Duke is the only one who has to win the conference tourney, and they should do so rather easily.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

UK and KU had 1 seeds locked up in December. I agree Duke has to win the ACC tourney, but I think they will and get a one. I think 'Cuse probably will still get a 1, but losing back to back games is iffy. They do have like 8 or 9 RPI top 50 wins, and the deucing they dropped on the Big East will probably do it though.

Yeah, Syracuse has like 12 RPI top 50 wins (at least according to RealtimeRPI), and 3 more against teams at 52, 54, 55. 28-4, 9 SOS, and 5th RPI. I'd be surprised if they weren't a #1.

dc, good point that the seeding committee could factor in the BTT championship by flipping the #2 and #3 seeds.

At this point, I'm not sure it even matters. Given our current state, and if LewJack can't go, I'm not sure we can beat any NCAA team.

Struggled to beat NW (prob NIT bound) in a semi-home game, and I think Jackson's driving ability saved us just as much as Moore's hot shooting.

yes you can. purdue is still as good as any team out there if they're playing their game.

Based on what? I hope you're right, but I can't see it if Jackson is unavailable. Without him we are merely a jump-shooting team...with only two guys that can shoot (one of which is our center)

It's bad enough when he is on the court (w/o Hummel), but at least he creates opportunities for JJ.

full disclosure: i haven't watched a purdue basketball game since the Hummel injury game vs. Minnesota.

anywho, in theory you have two EXCELLENT college basketball players on your team without Hummel. All you need is KG to pull his head out of his ass, and a big guy to remotely contribute (meaning 5+ rebounds 4+ points) and you guys should find yourselves in the sweet 16.

KG looks like he may already have already spent his wad for the season. And we don't have a big guy that can remotely contribute...other than JJ. We have Bade and no one else taller than 6'5" if I remember correctly. Looks downright scary. We have to pray for lights-out shooting....without any drive and dish opportunities.

I'm still hoping for a 3, but won't be upset with a 4.

Have to ask...if Purdue had lost a close game to Northwestern, would it have looked better to the committee than beating NW and then getting destroyed on natonial television against Minnesota?

yes. i think the game left an unsavory taste in the mouths of purdue fans, players, and ultimately the selection committee.

I agree. We would have been much better off if we had lost yesterday. IMO, even a ten point loss to NW would have been better for us than today's game.
