Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Obat:

Milli Vanilli's 1989 Girl You Know it's True sold over 6,000,000 albums and had 3 #1 hits, a #2, and a #4. They received a grammy for best new artist.

Is that a really a road you want to go down?

She's not exactly a one hit wonder so absolutely. I can't envision a scenario where she's not killing it a few years from now.

You don't like her, I get it, that's cool. But don't act like she's not wildly popular and a lasting figure in the music industry. Like her or not, she has a very unique talent that she's brought to music and to say otherwise would be an injustice to her....give credit where credit is due.
100 bucks says that while she might still be topping the country charts in a couple year, her crossover/mainstream stardom will die down. All her music sounds the same. Country music fans don't care, but most others do. That is why Nickelback went from top of the world to borderline has beens in about 3 years.

BTW it's funny that an untalented and boring person could be the most popular musician on the face of the earth shattering all sorts of records.

But don't let your personal bias get in the way of your argument....that's also interesting given the amount of stats that you use. I guarantee some of hers would put that argument to utter and complete shame.
Most popular musician on the face of the earth? That is stretching a bit don't you think?
Part of the reason she sells so many albums is because she is a country star. Country music fans A. will buy anything, and B. buy a lot more CD's than fans of other genres. That helps make her sells look more impressive than they really are.

Numbers don't lie....

And the numbers say she's the most popular singer on the earth right now, I stand by that statement.

There was actually an argument on ESPN radio about who should sing for the Super Bowl. they were saying that they should give the nod to the most popular singer right now, and they thought it should Taylor. I don't necessarily agree because I'm sure she's not that popular amongst football fans.

I realize she may not appeal to the older generation, but she sells albums like no one else right now.

And that talk about country fans buying anything is hogwash
