Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

that festival hasn't been relevant since 1997. they never should have brought it back.

Artists worth seeing at Bonnaroo this year (in no particular order):
Thievery Corporation
Damian Marley and Nas
Isis
The Melvins
Michael Franti and Spearhead
Ozomatli
Stevie Wonder
Jay-Z
Tenacious D
Conan O'Brien (comedy)
Aziz Ansari (comedy)

Artists you should avoid at all cost (in no particular order):
Tokyo Police Club
Phoenix
Les Claypool
Rise Against
Dr. Dog
The Gossip
The Nitty Gritty Dirt band
Ween
LCD Soundsystem
Weezer
Dave Mathews Band
Kings of Leon
The Flaming Lips doing dark side of the moon

Simply not worth the money. Although, i'm not a big fan of festivals. The sound sucks. It's freakishly hot in the middle of a field in Manchester, TN (i used to live 20 minutes from there, believe me). It's overpriced. You can't connect to the artists. You're surrounded by drugged out hippies. etc etc etc.

Bonnaroo really blew it's load in 2006 and it's sucked since then. seriously: Radiohead, Beck, Common, Sonic Youth, Atmosphere, Buddy Guy, Ben Folds, Cat Power, Blackalicious, Lyrics Born, Lewis Black. Nice.

I can understand the hate for DMB, though I'm a fan, but why no love for Rise Against?

rise against is the definition of poor song writing and a terrible genre of music. it's so boring and played out.

Are there any country artists there, or are we too classy for that type of event?

I dunno, they sound a lot like Iron Maiden to me. Both heavy rock, I really like most the stuff I've heard from either band.

Enya?
Def Leppard?
Bryan Adams?
Andrea Boceli?
Hibari Misori?
Jean Michael Jarre?
New Kids on the Block?
Orhan Gencebay?
Ricky Martin?
Roxette (seriously...they've outsold Iron Maiden. Wow)
UB40?
Village People?
Linkin Park?
B'z?
Britney Spears?
Eurythmics?
Spice Girls?
Scorpions?
Gloria Estefan?
Luis Miguel?
Boney M.?
George Michael?
Lionel Richie?
Modern Talking?
Neil Diamond?
Perry Como?
Pet Shop Boys?
Udo Jurgens?
Whitney Houston?
The Bee Gees?
Celine Dion?
Nana Mouskouri?

(there are many others, just wanted to highlight some)

BTW, there are five bands that are estimated to have sold at least 300 million records...Queen (300 million), Abba (370 million), Michael Jackson (750 million), Elvis Presley (1 billion+), and the Beatles (1 billion+).

not sayin' that maiden is the most dominant and popular band of all time, but it is quite an accomplishment that they did it with nearly zero airplay outside of maybe 2 songs.
