Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Bri, would love any insight you could provide on the subject (what your fiends go thorough) and also, have you met anyone on that show being from Seattle?

i don't know any of the guys on the show but i've seen their boats several times. I have friends that fish up in the bearing and friends that work on the shores off-loading boats. Saying that 80% of them are shady and will "stab you in the back" couldn't be further from the truth. While a lot of those guys are rough around the edges, you'd be hard pressed to find a group of people that would stand behind you through anything. They work the most dangerous job in the world, get little to no recognition (the show only showcases about 7 boats out of hundreds), and spend countless months away from their families.

Some of the stories i've heard over beers with my buddies are crazy. They definitely have some balls to do what they do.

I can definitely see why the military wouldn't want to port there. If you try to walk around a bearing sea fisherman and act like you're the shit or hard or something, you're apt to learn a lesson the hard way. I'm not the fighting type, but i'd choose to bar brawl against a fresh-out-of-boot-camp guy over one of the bearing fisherman ANY day.
