Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

your typical 8 seed has no chance (see Chicago Bulls) to win the championship. the thunder aren't your typical 8 seed. they could win the Finals and any NBA fan who has watched this season wouldn't be surprised.

Oh God, here we go about being surprised again. Are they your typical 8 seed, no! Would I be surprised? Yes, I would. Considering I haven't heard 1 expert say that they think they have a shot to win the Finals must mean I'm not alone.

Nobody even picked them to get out of the 1st round, let alone win the finals. The West was loaded this year, so yes they are not a typical 8 seed. CLE and ORL might be the only teams in the East better than OKC, so the 10th best team in the league winning it all would be surprising.

i picked them as my upset pick a long time ago. OKC could have easily been the #2 seed in the west.

You mean last week when they started playing LA, or midseason? Did you pick them as a 'team I wouldn't want to play' or a 'team that will win their 1st round matchup no matter who they face'. I didn't see your prediction for them on here, but if you have a link I'll give you all the credit in the world.

see first post in this thread. posted April 19.

honestly though I would have picked them as one of my favorites a while ago. i've been high on them all season, that's been no secret, but I don't know if i've ever posted that here (people here aren't too high on the NBA).

And over an 82 game season, they had plenty of chances to get the 2 seed. If you were so certain they would beat LA, why stop at the 2 seed? OKC has a lot of good young players and are playing about as well as they can right now.............and the series is tied. This series is playing out pretty much the same way the HOU/LA series did last season. HOU won a few games because of their speed and everyone immediately jumped on them to win it all........we all remember how that turned out.

i meant that they had a chance to get the #2 seed going into the last week and a half of the regular season.

If you were really high on them, you would have picked them as your real pick, not just an upset pick. They were the only candidate outside of PORT to being an actual upset pick. Basically you thought they had a better shot at beating LA than PORT has of beating PHX.......not the same as what you are trying to claim now.

I guess I'm confused, I read it as you are picking Dallas and then decided to have a 'if there is an upset, I'm going with (insert team)' section.

So are you saying that you had Dallas and OKC in the conference finals?

I've watched every game except for game 4. I agree that Fisher can't guard Westbrook. To say LA can't beat OKC without help from the refs is retarded. They have too big of an advantage inside not to be getting guys like Aldridge into foul trouble. Artest has done just fine on the scoring champ except for 1 game. Shannon Brown is the only guy who might be able to stay with Westbrook. If I was LA, I would go big with Kobe/Odom/Artest/Gasol/Bynum and pound OKC inside while putting Kobe on Westbrook. I don't think Phil will do that, he will just back off of Westbrook and not double Durant. Force Durant to beat them by himself and Westbrook to hit jumpers. This gets rid of the free throw issues and takes away cheap baskets. LA will still win this in 6...maybe 7.
So, after proving they can get to the rim, hit foul shots, and beat LA in the transition game, now OKC is gonna settle for jump shots? And to be perfectly honest, I dont think Kobe can guard Westbrook. These kids have some confidence now, they are not going to back down from the Lakers. LA may win this series but not by playing the way they did in game 4. OKC wants it and LA is showing their age. Thats what I saw anyway.

Maybe they can put Luke Walton on Durant? :sarcasm:

It is eating Phil alive, you can see it on the sideline. LA doesn't have the fire that this young team does. Phil acting like Durant ISN'T a superstar is what is retarded and foolish.

P.S. Artest sucks!
You don't have to be overly quick to play transition defense. You have to have good floor balance. LA is getting caught taking too many jumpers which leads to long rebounds which leads to more run outs.

They are getting to the rim because LA is playing the non-shooters too tight. Fisher or whoever guards Westbrook will start to sag off, and LA will pack it in the paint. If OKC hits jumpers to beat them, then they deserve it. It's dumb to continually play tight defense 26 feet away from the basket against a quicker player whose strong suit is taking it to the basket. Phil will make adjustments.
Yep, LA has no chance. Good thing they didn't make OKC beat them from the outside while punishing them with their interior players..........wait a minute..........

So much for Kobe not being able to guard Westbrook. Kobe is the most underrated defender in the league. http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/dime-100427/daily-dime
