Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Oh God, here we go about being surprised again. Are they your typical 8 seed, no! Would I be surprised? Yes, I would. Considering I haven't heard 1 expert say that they think they have a shot to win the Finals must mean I'm not alone.
How exactly does one become an "expert" on giving an opinion or GUESSING what the outcome of a game/series is going to be? "Expert" is just another term that getts thrown around too easily. Does watching a lot of games or being an ex-player make you an "expert"? I think we need a real clear definition on this one. I personally have never seen an "expert" on ANY subject in my life. Would an "expert" ever miss a pick? I think the real term should be EDUCATED GUESSER!

I've watched every game except for game 4. I agree that Fisher can't guard Westbrook. To say LA can't beat OKC without help from the refs is retarded. They have too big of an advantage inside not to be getting guys like Aldridge into foul trouble. Artest has done just fine on the scoring champ except for 1 game. Shannon Brown is the only guy who might be able to stay with Westbrook. If I was LA, I would go big with Kobe/Odom/Artest/Gasol/Bynum and pound OKC inside while putting Kobe on Westbrook. I don't think Phil will do that, he will just back off of Westbrook and not double Durant. Force Durant to beat them by himself and Westbrook to hit jumpers. This gets rid of the free throw issues and takes away cheap baskets. LA will still win this in 6...maybe 7.
So, after proving they can get to the rim, hit foul shots, and beat LA in the transition game, now OKC is gonna settle for jump shots? And to be perfectly honest, I dont think Kobe can guard Westbrook. These kids have some confidence now, they are not going to back down from the Lakers. LA may win this series but not by playing the way they did in game 4. OKC wants it and LA is showing their age. Thats what I saw anyway.

Maybe they can put Luke Walton on Durant? :sarcasm:

It is eating Phil alive, you can see it on the sideline. LA doesn't have the fire that this young team does. Phil acting like Durant ISN'T a superstar is what is retarded and foolish.

P.S. Artest sucks!
You don't have to be overly quick to play transition defense. You have to have good floor balance. LA is getting caught taking too many jumpers which leads to long rebounds which leads to more run outs.

They are getting to the rim because LA is playing the non-shooters too tight. Fisher or whoever guards Westbrook will start to sag off, and LA will pack it in the paint. If OKC hits jumpers to beat them, then they deserve it. It's dumb to continually play tight defense 26 feet away from the basket against a quicker player whose strong suit is taking it to the basket. Phil will make adjustments.
Yep, LA has no chance. Good thing they didn't make OKC beat them from the outside while punishing them with their interior players..........wait a minute..........

So much for Kobe not being able to guard Westbrook. Kobe is the most underrated defender in the league. http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/dime-100427/daily-dime
Surely the home crowd and foul call disparity had nothing to do with it :sarcasm:

I guess it's OK to blow your own horn when only talking about one game though? OKC is definitely no able to have an off night either. We should just judge this series on the one game that you picked out. LA made a few adjustment and the young/inexperienced OKC team didn't have a particularly good night. Surely though, will all LA's experience combined with being coached by the "Zen Master" (lol), LA should have swept this series. :wanker:

Yeah, just 1 random game that I picked out.......definitely wasn't the very next game after saying what adjustments LA would/should make. It's funny how you were so quick to praise OKC after their 1 game of thrashing LA. Give it up.

Jerryd Bayless is really starting to piss me off. He will get a steal, race down the court and have no teammates and 2-3 defenders in the lane and will lose the ball every fucking time!!! It is really fucking annoying because I know he is going to do it and it never works.

Jesus can you read? You are worse than that Irish guy. I said thrashed. After that game, you proclaimed LA to be too slow to have a chance of beating OKC. I said LA would make adjustments and win in 6 or 7 unless OKC started knocking down their jumpers. I said Kobe should guard Westbrook, you said he couldn't......ummm.....did you watch the game?

Honestly, you are getting throttled on every post you comment on. I'd stop while you are still way behind.

I could never be way behind you.

OKC was one block-out away from taking LA to 7 games, seems pretty impressive to me for such a young team. But, of course, I'm not an NBA "expert" like yourself and choose to watch more pure sports that stay a little closer to their original design. Watching a game with shady refs and old players clearing out the floor is not really all that exciting to me. I'll take a "down" decade of ncaa basketball any day over watching pampered millionaires who get the rules changed for their benefits and the perception of more excitement. Watching nba coaches eating $35,000 fines to get calls for their team against a bunch of young guys just trying to play the game the right way does not make the game to appetizing to a lot of people. I trust that I am still allowed to have an opinion?

Ha, you are proud of a team who failed to do a fundamental thing like blocking out after proclaiming them the winners of their series. You said LA was too old and slow to keep up with them, but all of a sudden its a moral victory to lose on your homecourt on a bonehead play with 1 second to go.

I think I'd rather argue with my 8 year old about sports, she has a much better understanding of what is going on.

lmao. A young guy fails to block out on Kobe's brick in the final seconds and now the whole team "lacks fundamentals"? You are a really funny guy.

No comment on "the zen master" eating 70 grand, in one week, in an attempt to influence the series? Why am I not surprised? Surely your daughter was at least marginally offended? Seems she would side with OKC youth over Phil's money? If not, I wish you and her well with her special education studies.

Btw, it takes a seriously stupid motherfucker to bring his 8 yr old daughter into a sports message board arguement. Congrats on being the father of the century. I seriously pray that your daughter can somehow lead a normal life once she get the hell away from you. :loser:

I can always adjust my attitude, unfortunately you can't fix stupid.

LA beats another team that is much quicker than they are. Ask PHX how much speed and playing at a quick pace has worked out for them in the playoffs against a slow team like SA over the past 7 years or so.....PHX is my team, so trust me I already know the answer. It's obvious you really have nothing substantial to add to a conversation about sports, so go back to the politics board and spew your nonsense elsewhere.

Anyways, CLE won game 1 but I like BOS' chances to push this series to 6-7 games. I think the big 3 went something like 1-15 in the 4th quarter, which I doubt happens again. I still refuse to bet against LeBron this season even with his alleged elbow injury.

I don't really like ATL, but I'm glad they knocked off MIL because they are a much better matchup against ORL, especially without Bogut. Horford should be able to handle Howard inside since Howard has ZERO good offensive moves besides pushing off or catching alley-oops. Yes, I'm the guy a lot of you chastized for calling Howard overrated. He has no fundamental basketball skills whatsoever, he is just bigger/stronger than almost anyone else. I'm interested to see who Smith guards, I'd put him on Carter. Speaking of Carter, whoever he guards should use and abuse him. He can't cover Joe Johnson, and he would get abused down low by any of the ATL big men........should be interesting. Jameer Nelson should abuse Bibby like a left handed red headed step child, unless Redick gets quality minutes.....then they can hide Bibby on him. I expect to see a lot of Pietrus on Joe Johnson/Crawford. ORL was never tested in the 1st round, while ATL had to play 2 elimination games.......I think ATL steals 1 of the first 2 in ORL.

PHX/SA is interesting. Duncan is struggling, which helps PHX immensely. I don't know if Duncan has the foot speed to stay with Amare(especially if he hedges on the pick and roll), so he might concede jump shots to Amare most of the time. If I was PHX, I would be running pick and rolls against Duncan all game long to wear him down. Ginobili and Hill are the only 2 guys on SA that are playing aggressive offensively.....Grant Hill will take Ginobili, and JRich will matchup on Hill. If Nash cancels out Parker scoring wise offensively, I think PHX has a really good chance to win the series. I think this one goes atleast 6 as well, and damnit I'm going to pick my Suns to finally get the monkey off their backs......wait a minute, did I just pick Alvin Gentry over Popovich?.......I take that back, SA in 6 with a lot of close wins for SA.

LA will continue to get bored with UTAH, so this series will go longer than it should. UTAH is really good at home, so I say LA in 6.
