Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Joe Johnson lost himself a few $$ for his next contract because of this playoff series, that's for sure.

The thing is, Joe Johnson cannot be your best player if you expect to go far in the playoffs. He is a great complimentary player, who will still get overpaid. The folks in MIA and NY are pretty happy about his postseason performance.

Does Fisher ever miss those?

And Boozer cries again after missing a potential winning layup..........the one against IU was much better.

I hope Joe goes to the Clippers. But yeah, New York doesn't know much about playoff success -- and they'll be reeling about not getting Bron/Bosh/Wade so they'll spend that money on him instead.

Horford should be able to handle Howard inside
Howard is not very good offensively. Most of his points come from lobs and putbacks because he is simply bigger and stronger than most interior players. Howard actually hit free throws last night, even though he didn't deserve to be shooting a lot of them. Horford is a solid defender. Howard got away with multiple offensive fouls in the 1st half last night. On the other end of the floor, Horford can take Howard out 15-18 feet from the basket. ATL just stopped going to him last night and settled for too many jump shots.

Keep watching the highlights instead of the entire game.
lol
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Not sure what is so funny, ATL was just too dumb to execute a simple gameplan. Make Howard beat you offensively, don't double team him because they kill you from 3 point range. Howard isn't polished enough offensively to dominate game after game. The only game ATL had a chance to win was because they were doing exactly what I posted.....and then went away from it to shoot jumpers the entire 4th quarter. I expect Woodson to be fired within the week.

I'm still waiting for Horford to handle Howard inside.

It's tough to do that when you aren't given the chance.......when ATL used the strategy I'm talking about, they had their biggest success. Horford took him away from the basket, and singling up on Howard kept ORL from destroying them offensively. Unfortunately, they only used the strategy for 3 out of 16 quarters in the entire series......which you would know if you actually watched the games.

Take out Horford's stats from the game 1 debacle where he only played 22 minutes, and he hit more than half his shots......didn't miss any free throws......and got close to 10 rebounds per game. Horford was only getting about 12 shots per game when ATL's best chance was to go right at Howard and get him into foul trouble. I don't think Howard hit double digit shot attempts in any of the games, and had very few assists. Make the worst offensive player beat you instead of doubling him and then scrambling around to try to rotate on the 4 shooters ORL almost always has on the floor. Didn't anyone watch what they did last year? I know CLE will not double him if they get past BOS. LeBron would probably take Carter. Jamison is good enough to cover Lewis.......That series will come down to who gets the foul calls inside. CLE didn't have a post guy to defend Howard or enough offense last season, those are the 2 areas they addressed this season.
