Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Lately (the last 5 or 6 times), everytime I get on this OHB I get a trojan horse or worm virus on my computer. My anit-virus has so far stopped it. Also, I am sure it was this website that I got a bad worm virus on my work laptop. Is there some way you or Jaz can protect this website from intruders putting these things on here? I really like getting on OHB at work, but if this is happening on my home computer, I will have to restrain myself from getting on this website. I really like OHB and look forward to reading updated stuff at work during my breaks and lunch. Please tell me there is something you can do.

THANKS!!!

Has anyone else had this problem?

thanks for letting us know. A user on another invision/zeta board that I frequent also said that there is a virus/malware embedded somewhere on this site. In a way, I wish this problem was limited to just OHB because that'd mean that I'd have control. Unfortunately, it seems to be the actual host itself. So....

I'm going to be looking up the invision/zeta mod boards to find other reports and possible solutions. In the mean time, anyone else that is having this problem i STRONGLY urge you to not use archaic browsers *cough* IE *cough* or depend on programs like mcafee or norton to protect your computer. I've asked several users and it seems those who are not using Chrome, Firefox, or Opera are the one getting infected.

All fingers point toward this problem being rooted in the advertisements. So, if you happen to be using firefox or chrome, get Adblock Plus and the problem will be solved immediately (you'll also browse ad-free from now on).

If anyone else has questions or are experiencing this problem, PLEASE respond in this post so I can further figure out what's happening.

Thanks.

Well, this:

and this:

Finally, the fact you're paying for an antivirus program when there are several free alternatives that are better.

IE is pretty much the worst browser decision you could make.

...i can't even remember the last time i used IE...every since i got Chrome i can't go back to anything else...if you are surfing, Chrome can't be beat, imo...

...at work, we have a couple of sites that we use that aren't compatible with Chrome, so we use Firefox...but never IE...

IE's performance on the ACID3 internet standards test is laughable.

oh and FF is a huge resource hog, but better than IE nonetheless. ultimately i think chrome is the best browsing experience.
