Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

keep in mind Jobe was a 7 foot Juco.
that was mobile, could play defense, but was very raw offensively.
don't know if i can agree with you on this one b'town.

jobe could run the court...but if we are equating mobility with even the vaguest notions of coordination and awareness in movement...then no, jobe did not possess this. i don't think he could really play defense either. but yes, he was extremely raw offensively.
i was referring to tijan's scouting report. it was nearly identical to this michel guy.
ahhh...sorry mate. didn't pick up on that.

you are correct. guess we'll have to wait for some footage of this kid to surface...

What do you lose by signing him????? People say bank it for the 2012 class. By signing him it will still be there for the 2012 class. If you add to your 2011 class then only two for 2012.

Second note: Why do some want TP to leave. If I was an IU fan I would want Bawa to leave. I would love to give IU Bade.

there's this one hilarious picture of him jumping at a jump shooter at his JuCo and the kids he's playing with look absolutely horrible at basketball. it looks like a really, really, really bad YMCA league. i'll try to find it.

did you watch any iu hoops this year? TP demonstrated spectacular regression in his game. i'd take bade over TP. bawa on the other hand is an acknowledged project. we'll see this coming year if his progress is moving in the right direction or not. still too early to give up on that one.

TP does have a chance to turn it around...but it has to start in his off-season training regimen and he has to learn to bring his game mentally as well. if he doesn't show that immediately next year, then i never want to see him on the court again. i can't take another 1/2 years of watching his sorry ass out there.

It all comes down to work ethic. Pritchard looked and played like he spent the whole offseason getting drunk.

Bawa is just a big question mark at this point. I don't think anybody would be upset if he left, but we haven't seen enough of him to know whether he's been improving in practice or not.

Well that has been my thought. If Crean wants to use a scholly this year, then sign a JUCO so it will be available for 2012. But I think he needs to try and get a top 20 JUCO big, if not then he needs to bank it. If Crean is deadset on using a scholarship, then he needs to sign any 4 year player that is a high 4 star (somewhere around 50 or under) or a 5 star for either this year or 2011, anything else will be wasting the scholarship, IMO.

I live in North Idaho and saw NIC play at the end of a local high school tournament. Guy Marc Michel was just another player on the court. He didn't seem to have any kind of special presence on the defensive end. Although he did seem to run well, but so does Tijan. Offensively he was invisible. The only points he scored in that game were 2 offensive tip ins. That could've been because the tallest player on the other team was 6'7" He wasn't very impressive the time I saw him.

So he would be in a battle with bade for the ball. The game could be a low scoring affair as the ball goes out of bounds like 70 times between the two of them

I don't know what Tijan Jobe was ranked by Rivals on JUCO Junction, but this guy is rated something like 66th. Which I wouldn't take. Two guys on this list, who was recruited by IU before, that Crean should possibly consider is Beas Hamga and Eloy Vargas. I know they are't top 20 JUCO players, but I remember those two were rated in the top 150, maybe in the top 100 in the 2008 class. What would be so bad with Crean going after one of them?

Here is the link for the JUCO Junction ratings:

What would be so bad?.............how about losing out on a decommit, transfer, late bloomer, or really good 2011 recruit. No more potential stopgaps that are more likely to become major disappointments.
