Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

so we're supposed to like this signing because it prevents our coach from signing a different 4 year incompetent player? riiiiiiight.

I do not like this signing. But it's not like it's the end of the world.

Add to the this the fact that Crean and his staff have not been able to develop any big men and this is yet another waste of a scholarship. Whether someone else transfers does not make this signing any better. He needs to stop this bullshit of signing projects. It seems like he is a 6 year old in a candy store who just has to spend his only dollar.
Lol.

So... Crean and his coaching staff haven't been able to develop Kyle Taber, Tom Pritchard, Tijan Jobe, and now Bawa Muniri.

Nice basis to go off of Evil. Got some quality big men right there. Taber/Pritchard are both too white to improve.

Tijan and Bawa... hell, they're probably being taught how to communicate with others more than how to play the game.

Let's see how a good player, one that actually has a shot at being good... in Watford improves for next year. And Capobianco and Elston. Then talk.

I'm still really fucking pissed about this... I've put up with Crean's shit for awhile, but you cannot tell me that there isn't a better Juco big man that doesn't want to go to IU.

in the end it smacks a bit of desperation. we had some quality bigs we were after...and couldn't land a single one. table scraps.

but i can understand crean's thinking in that there is no way in hell he's going to go thru another 9 to 11 win season watching tom pritchard gift the lane and rim away to anyone and everyone (jobe starting the big 10 tourney game comes to mind). and who knows, maybe crean also needed to back up talk with the likes of watford concerning what role wold be expected of him going forward.

anyhow, if he is better than TP and bawa (though i'm not sold on this yet) then it could at least provide marginal returns for the overall team. and hopefully TP is cleaning out his locker about now anyway...

So predictable. So Pritchard showed no promise at all in your eyes his freshman year right? Too white to improve?......yeah, he is too white to learn 2 post moves and play with intelligence.

So it's not Crean's fault for signing crappy big men......not his fault for not being able to develop them.........and not his fault for going after another juco big man project even though he has projects all across his front line?

So now Crean is praised for blowing 2 scholarships on guys he has to teach how to communicate with other people?

You are easily the biggest Crean homer there is, if he shit on your car I'm sure you would defend him by saying 'I'm sure he just really had to go'.

They can, there is no point arguing with someone who has no idea what they are talking about.

There is not one player over 6-7 that has gotten better under Crean. None of them can finish inside and none of them defend particularly well. I give Elston a mulligan because Crean stupidly buried him on the bench for most of the season.

this team definitely has some recruiting issues... this team lacks a true big man and a solid pg and for whatever reason we can not seem to seal the deal on any of the 2

Although it's true that IU doesn't have a true PG, they really don't need one. Crean likes to use slashing combo guards rather than a true PG.

As far as the big men go, yes it's a glaring hole. Part of me isn't surprised that he is getting little attention from top ranked big men. They probably look at the roster and see a bunch of names they have to compete with for minutes...........that, and Crean has been unable to develop ANY of them. Even a guy with talent like Watford can't finish inside of 4 feet without getting his shot blocked constantly.

I wonder what IU's field goal percentage is for the guys over 6-7 inside of 6 feet......I'm guessing it's one of the lowest in the country....especially if compared to other major conference schools.

Although I mentioned that Crean should sign a JUCO big to fill a void inside and to free up the scholarship for 2012, but I also stated that it needs to be a top 20 player, not a project Tijan Jobe II player. I for one am not happy with this signing and Evil is 100% right, Crean flat out wastes scholarships on projects.

I'm not upset because I don't know anything about him. Any video? On the bright side, I like that Gonzaga wanted him. Their big men always seem to produce.
