Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

NBA sucks...who cares.

br
It's far more interesting to watch compared to a 4 hour baseball game filled with juicers.
Yeah, I see your point. Watching clear-outs, one-on-ones, players getting four steps and being able to palm the ball is very, very exciting.
You're right, every team plays that way. I'd much rather watch a 7 minute at-bat with 16 cup adjustments, 13 episodes of kicking dirt, and 9 loogies by players who get poked with a needle more times than a diabetic. Yep, I see your point.
Are you claiming NBA players/refs haven't "stretched" the rules of what basketball was meant to be?
Are you seriously retarded? What does the alleged stretching of rules have to do with baseball being boring? Let's play your game. Are you saying that every umpire calls the strike zone exactly how the rulebook states? Are you saying baseball is better to watch than basketball even though they refuse to take the time to go to replay on game changing plays? Are you saying that it's more fun to watch 7 guys stand around on defense 90% of the time compared to watching teams trying to rotate defensively to cover the pick and roll?
FYI, MLB has instant replay.......

look at the NBA rule book. you'll notice that players are allowed one more step because the larger court coupled with the larger NBA bodies make it a reasonable change. you can continue to argue that the NBA is simplistic and whatnot, but you'd be dead wrong.
 So changing the rules of REAL basketball and putting it in a book makes it legit? Ok, that makes sense, those 6'9" NBA players are sooooo much bigger than those 6' 9" college boys.......that's funny shit there
wow i misunderstood how good you were at selective reading and how big of an idiot you are.

Yeah, on whether or not it's a foul ball.............that solves everything. Those controversial plays happen more often than a play at the plate or a close play at any other base. I can see now why you are a Colts fan, you fit right in with 90% of the other ones I've met.

Go Tom Brady......oops, thats right, you are not a NE fan...

FYI: instant replay is used for homeruns too........do some homework before you speak. Would you want IR for balls and strikes too? You already bitch about how long the games are now. Make up your fucking mind or think before you speak.

I could care less how many people agree with me on whether or not college basketball has been down for the past few years. According to you, Butler must have one of the best defenses of all time since they only gave up more than 60 points 1 time all tournament long.

so you want to take judgement calls out of the game all together? maybe just have a camera behind the plate and the PA announcer can just make the call?

Should the NBa REVIEW EVERY FOUL CALL THEN?

And for some reason you decide to dog Butlers defense when no one even mentioned it. FWIW, I'd say Butler's defense played pretty well for a school in such a dilluted conference. I sure as hell am not going to take anything away from them. Unlike you, I am man enough to give them the props that they are due. According to you, everybody sucks. the end.

Wow, you are truly an idiot.

what a clever comeback :loser:

PS.....I still haven't seen where you specifically said "plays at the plate"? How many baseball games really have "game changing" plays at the plate (game changing plays was your true words)? I wonder what percentage of games are decided with a play at the plate? I'd say it is extremely low, but you are the "expert" here.

Do all NBA refs call fouls the same way? Funny, look at Dallas and San Antonio's playoff records with certain officials calling the games compared to when those same officials don't call their games. Thank goodness their was really only one "rogue" official.

Courtesy of Bill Simmons (although he is no nba "expert" like yourself.......but that really goes without saying)

12. Danny Crawford
Just the facts according to our guy Alok Pattani. Starting with the 2001 playoffs:

A. The Mavs are 2-16 in playoff games officiated by Crawford since 2001 (including Game 3 of the Spurs series, a loss) ... and 46-39 in all other playoff games. They won their first 2001 playoff game with him (Game 5 versus Utah), so they've lost 15 of the past 16.

B. Against the spread, the Mavs are 4-14 with Crawford officiating ... and 45-40 in all other playoff games.

C. They averaged 21.9 free throws in the Crawford games; 27.1 free throws in the non-Crawford games.

So why does Danny rank so highly in the power rankings? Because any NBA official who can keep his job post-Donaghy with a documented history of bias against a particular team has to be commended. I'm being sarcastic. What a joke. The league could easily avoid these situations by admitting that, yes, from time to time, a team rubs an official the wrong way, and officials are human, and there's nothing we can do about this other than making sure the official and the team cross paths as little as possible -- like Crawford and Dallas, like Bill Kennedy and Boston, like Joey Crawford and San Antonio (1-4 in Crawford's five Spurs playoff games since he was suspended for ejecting Tim Duncan in 2007) -- but apparently it's easier to stick our heads in the sand and pretend this stuff isn't going on. You know, because Tim Donaghy's documented-by-the-FBI, staggeringly successful record of picking winners by playing on the biases of officials against certain teams didn't really happen. Even though it did. Let's just move on.

Yeah, on whether or not it's a foul ball.............that solves everything. Those controversial plays happen more often than a play at the plate or a close play at any other base. I can see now why you are a Colts fan, you fit right in with 90% of the other ones I've met.
It's much easier to understand someone's post when you actually read it.

The NBA does more to get the calls right than MLB, and its not even close. When was the last time an umpire was suspended for doing a horrible job of calling the strike zone?

So, if the biases in baseball are so obvious, give a few statistics on it. You really have no comment on the obvious biases of some nba officials? What a surprise.
