Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

IU gearing up for run in 2011-12?

A few weeks ago, we wrote that ex-Ohio State guard Walter Offutt was now also an ex-Wright State Raider. Dustin Dopirak of the Hoosier Scoop is reporting Offutt will walk-on at Indiana, provided there is a decent financial aid package.

There is always the chance that Offutt could go to Ohio University and reunite with former OSU assistant John Groce (now head coach at Ohio, and the coach who recruited Offutt). However, the shooting guard seems to prefer IU as opposed to any other schools. "I always wanted to go to IU but they had so many problems when I was getting recruited, I really couldn't choose IU," said Offutt.

There is a chance, though, that Offutt may not even take the floor this upcoming season. The soon-to-be-junior wants to play two full seasons and since he won't be eligible until the spring semester, Offutt has said he may just want to sit out 2010-11 and return the following season.

If that's what Offutt chooses to do, 2011-2012 could be an exciting year for Tom Crean's bunch. He's already got highly-regarded small forward prospect Austin Etherington committed for that class, and has three Super 60 prospects considering joining it as well.

Who are the three super 60? I believe Zeller and Davis are there, but who else?

Probably a good decision on his part to wait a year. It will give him a chance to adjust to the school, and it's not like IU is going to need him for a tourney run. Basically IU gets a 2 year player with an extra year of experience......and doesn't impact the scholarship numbers. Sounds good to me.

Yeah i don't know how you could not like that. The last couple years have been tough and next year doesn't look to be a picnic either - especially of Elston leaves - but things are starting to look up.

That wouldn't be a bad resume' for Offutt either: tOSU freshman, Wright State sophomore, redshirt/sit out a year at IU..., then play for 2 seasons. By then, he'd be a team leader in my opinion.

Let's make this shit official! Negedu and Offutt or bust!

Elston isn't leaving. But he isn't part of my no-posting bet only because I'm not 100% like I am on the others..

i can't remember, but it wasn't anyone that was going to realistically going to come to IU. Zeller wasn't in their super 60.

lol

ESPN recruiting coverage is the worst.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel
