Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I was sure hoping he could play for IU, but I completely understand. I hope he gets his wish and some school allows him to play. :(

I'm a little disappointed and feel for the guy. Can't imagine what it must feel like having a condition that keeps you from playing the game that you love.

Good luck Emmanuel. I hope you find a program that's willing to clear you.

my problem with this is that the administration wouldn't clear him...not the medical staff. certainly any question of liability could have been addressed prior to enrollment. i'd just like to think that administrators are willing to account for given areas of expertise of, in this case, doctors.

he'll be playing somewhere for sure. and i hope he does well...but wow is that going to be painful watching him if he becomes a solid interior presence and has a great career somewhere other than iu.

They're trying to start a rumor on ITH that Offutt is an Ohio lean too.

I'm not gonna fall into believing that bullshit. Especially when he's from Indiana, and has been quoted saying he's almost certain he'll be going here if the papers work out fine.

This article really supports that rumor.

I didn't see/couldn't find any info about Offutt on ITH. If it isn't reported directly from the ITH reporters, then I won't believe it either.

what a horrible fucking day.
Were either really seen as major contributors?
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

They were seen as small contributors with no scholarships wasted....and at this point it looks like we could have wasted two years on a guy who might not contribute.

Well, from what I've gathered, the 2012 recruiting class is IU's most important class, and that signing doesn't affect the 2012 class (it actually may help it because it keeps a 2011 player from holding a scholarship). Not sure what the concern is, unless that the 2012 class really isn't the end all be all of Crean's tenure.

We still will be playing basketball in 2010 and 2011...so losing guys who might make minor contributions does have an affect, especially if there was no cost.
