After the World Cup. It's been rumored for a while, but even though he's past his time it'll be great to have a(nother) living legend playing in the US. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/392649-the-inevitable-is-upon-usthierry-henry-signs-contract-with-red-bulls |

i'm hoping so too. a lot of european players come to the MLS to find that it's not as easy as they expected. say what you will about it, but the MLS has built up a respectable talent base and I don't expect Henry to come in and have an easy time with it especially in his first 1/2 season. I'm definitely going to check out a NY Red Bulls game though; living in the US you don't have many chances to see a player of his caliber. by the way llama have you seen the new Red Bulls Arena? It's unbelievable for a US Soccer-only stadium.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Bull_Arena_(New_Jersey) |

wow. had not seen that. looks quite nice. i agree with you on the mls. hopefully the league can continue its gradual improvement, and facilities such as that stadium certainly don't hurt. |

He should have a ball over here. I remember seeing a special a while back talking about how much racism he faces over in Europe. Not that they are overly racist, but that they are so nuts about soccer they just bombard him with insanely racist crap all of the time. |

Barcelona's team trained in the US for a bit last summer while they did their "MLS tour." I remember reading an interview with some of the players, saying they loved coming to the US because they can practice in the middle of Central Park on a weekend without being recognized or bothered by anyone. In fact, one of them said some guy came up to the coach and asked them if they could move because it was the spot his intramural softball team always meets to practice. |
