Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I thought it would be fun for everyone, who wants to participate, to put down their recruiting wish list for 2011 and 2012. The oversign is the only thing available for 2011, unless someone transfers, and there are 4 available, 5 if the oversign is left from 2011, for 2012.

My IU recruiting wish list for 2011:

#1 - Aaron Thomas. After reading his development and improvement from the past several weeks on the AAU circuit, he will be a bigger impact player, IMO, than Davis and he really likes IU.

Alternate 1 - Jeremiah Davis. If we don't land Thomas, then he would be Crean's next option, IMO.

Alternate 2 - Cody Zeller. If either one of the above doesn't commit, then go with Zeller. He is a good player and IU needs the size.

Alternate 3 - Bank scholarship oversign if we don't get any of the above.

For 2012:

#1 - Hanner Perea. After see videos of this kid, he is an excellent athlete and will be an impact player immediately. Really seems to attack the rim and has great leaping ability.

# 2 - D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera. He probably should be #1, but I really like Perea and we can use Perea's size. But if we land this kid, others may follow. This kid is an all around great player and a must get, IMO, for coach TC.

# 3 - Peter Jurkin. His size will help fill a need for IU that they have been lacking and should come in and contribute immediately.

# 4 - Yogi Ferrell. This kid is a true point guard and will fill a need for IU that they have been lacking for quite some time.

Alternate 1 - Ron Patterson. Good guard and will be a contributor as soon as he steps on campus.

Alternate 2 - Kenny Kaminski. Seems to a decent all around player and probably could play some down low, but seems more comfortable outside. Probably wouldn't get much pt his freshman year, but I could be wrong.

These are all I have so far. Right now, I can't think of anyone else for 2012.

Recruit players who are tough, athletic, unselfish, and like to play defense.

that's not what larry bird told me. he said that if you recruit unathletic (aka white) pussys who hate playing defense you will win an NBA title..

I have seen a lot on him. Is he 2011 or 2012? If you have a video or other info on him, please share it with us.

Dreachon Cherpaka - graduated early, going back to school to help IU back to prominence. Debates rage about whether a first year basketball player significantly older than everyone else and finishing his last semester of college can be considered for the freshman of the year award.

Just watched the video that Peegs had of him from the AMC.

Wow. He looks big-time.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

The Peegs video is premium content, so its impossible to post. Here are some clips I found on youtube though. He reminds me of a shorter Evan Turner.
