Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

i love it when people try to say that women's basketball is a more "pure" form of the men's game.

translation:

women's basketball sucks.
There's some truth to it. I'll take good passing and smart play over dunks most of the time. Sure, it's fun watching JJ play with his head above the rim and Kramer's tomahawk jams were impressive, but that's not why I watch the games.
but you also must admit that women's basketball, even at it's highest level, is very, very poor quality. no bones about it.
No, I disagree with that assertion. I think the women shoot as well the men, run more offensive plays, and clearly have better T&A than the men--no bones about it.
You are absolutely 100% wrong. I've been to a few IU women's basketball games last year and most of the shots were terrible. In fact, at the IU vs. Purdue women's game two years ago, there was an IU girl (Jamie Braun, I believe) and a Purdue girl (Big ugly dyke) that both separately air balled shots within six feet of the rim.

Come and join in song together, shout with might and main. Our beloved Alma Mater, sound her praise again. Gloriana Frangipana, E'er to her be true. She's the pride of Indiana, Hail to Old IU!

I think the women shoot as well the men
I'll let you slide except for that. That's just no.
http://www.nbsafreethrows.org/records
2009 Season:
Div. I Men Average - 69.1%
Div. I Women Average - 68.78%

The men lit it up from the line 0.32% better than the women. That's not as good as dc shoots, but still pretty impressive.
that's free throw shooting. there's no way women shoot better from 3 point, or anywhere else on the floor. they may shoot well, but there's no way you can say they shoot as good as men. find me a woman with the same kind of unlimited range as matt roth. :P
Regarding Roth, I've got nothing, and am completely owned.

Men's 3 pt shooting is better too by about 3% according to this link:
http://www.dailyiowan.com/2009/02/24/Sports/10225.html
The 2007-08 season saw the highest 3-point percentage in the men’s game, 35.02 percent, since the national adoption of the line before the 1986-87 season. In the BCS conferences of women’s basketball — the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-10, and SEC — the 3-point percentage has dropped more than 0.6 from last year. The percentage as of Feb. 18 in the major six conferences is 31.94, compared with last year’s 32.58.
