john wall on coach cal... "His dream was to coach at University of Kentucky and he had the opportunity. I feel like he's going to stay there strongly. I feel like being there for one year, he got a good recruiting class this year and a talented recruiting class next year, I see no reason why he would leave." "Like I said, he's at his dream school and that's the University of Kentucky. He's happy where he's at; he would like to have another chance at the NBA, but he probably wouldn't want to leave the University of Kentucky that soon." while johnny did technically say what i'm sure he was supposed to...he also let drop definite hints, if any were needed, that cal is as good as gone as soon as it gets a) to be unviable for him to stay in the college game; b) the money gets to be too big to ignore in the nba; c) he's not guaranteed the best recruiting class at UK; or d) all of the above (or at least 2 of 3). can't say how glad i am he is not at IU... :goiu: |

Well, he's making NBA money now, and there is no reason to believe he can't keep pulling in top ranked classes. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Unless the one and done rule changes. If they extend it, then his players will have to go to class and make their grades. By the way, how does this affect their APR (I think that is what it is called)? |

I don't think the choice will have anything to do with UK or recruits. Cal wants to coach in the NBA, but he's not going to go to just any team. He's not an x's and o's coach, so he needs a ton of talent on his team to succeed. Does anyone think that if the team Lebron lands on offers a job to Cal that he wouldn't take it in a second? |

His an article I came across that sort of supports your argument. Notice what the former Nets owner states. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=Asncevggjv0mAyyGZQeOWnDevbYF?slug=aw-caliparinets052110 Edited by dedicatedIUfan, May 24 2010, 11:52 AM.

By the way, how much would it suck for Cleveland if they hired Calipari trying to sway Lebron to stay, and then Lebron just goes elsewhere anyway... |

Calipari wouldn't take the job unless he was absolutely assured that LBJ would stay. |

btw.. anyone who doesn't think Calipari will jump to the NBA in the near future is an idiot. Those rumors don't come from nowhere. |
