Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

First off, I don't think we'll beat Purdue this season, although I'll still pull for us and definitely don't think it is out of the question.

I wanted to ask you, since you're obviously on this side of the board every day with a couple other PU fans, what is Purdue going to do once their "class of the century" graduates this year?

If they don't reach the Final Four would you consider them a failure or letdown?

Who do you see making it to the NBA?

What will the state of Purdue basketball be next year? Because people have tried to say we lack depth and talent... well we've reloaded, but I haven't heard SHIT about PU basketball recruits lately?

bg you honestly really piss me off at times. I'm being blunt about this, and straight forward. I don't know shit about PU basketball and I shouldn't know shit about PU basketball, so I have to ask someone whose advice and answer is credible and not 100% homer vision (such as you).

We havent heard of any high profile recruits committing to PU in like 2 years so I was jw if PU is gonna be back in the shithole after this year.

I like you and all tamazing, but you shouldn't call anyone else a homer.
I admit I'm Indiana biased, but the fact that I'm openly optimistic does not make me a homer. The fact that I root for IU to win every single game doesn't make me a homer. I'm a huge fuckin fan.. and you know, I'll be honest and say "Hey, I don't think we're gonna win this one guys, but I think we have a shot"... that's not being a homer. That's having faith.

Saying I think we'll be a game or 2 over .500 isn't being a homer. Saying we'll be .500 in the Big Ten isn't being a homer. This is Coach Crean's 3rd year, we should be making that much progress by now. We have upperclassmen finally (although just juniors). I have higher expectations than some of you I guess, but that does not make me a homer.

Get your facts straight. I used to be a huge homer but I'm a realist more than anything, I'm just really fuckin optimistic. If I bet money on games this season I guarantee I'd make a profit...... even on the games we lose cause I'll probably have called it beforehand.

----------------------

Now back to what this damn thread was intended for. Give me some real facts, and honest thoughts. What's in store for PU basketball after 80% or so of their scoring is gone this year?

Tmazing,

After this season we will stop playing basketball. Purdue basketball will be fine going forward. Maybe we take a step back next season but 2013 Purdue will be in the mix in the Big Ten.

Purdue has a very strong 2012 class. Purdue actually has a better 2012 class than IU does right now. They committed over a year ago.

If you wanna say Purdue is done knock yourself out.

I will chirp in Tamazing.

Matt Painter has received verbals from rising juniors Raphael Davis(rivals #95), a 6-foot-5 wing from South Side High School in Fort Wayne, Ind., 6-8 forward Jay Simpson(rivals #78) of Champaign, Ill., and 6-2 guard Kyle Molock of Dublin, Ohio.

The Boilermakers' 2010 haul – highlighted by Indianapolis guard Terone Johnson(rivals #51) of 4A state champion North Central – was ranked No. 15. Anthony Johnson(rivals #101) and Travis Carroll round out the class. We have nothing on board for 2011(well other than Hale(rivals #144), but something will drop.

The Big3 Johnson, Hummel, and Moore were ranked 42nd, 75th and 35th respectively so we are still in the same neighborhood.

I'm not talking trash you idiot.

I was asking Cam, not your homer ass self.

Your "2012 Purdue class is actually better than IU's" is just your assumption and guess. Ranking sites are bogus, and I doubt it even says that on any of them. That's just your opinion... your very very very fuckin biased ass opinion.

Idc what happens to PU basketball, idc if they were last place or 3rd place. I just want the rivalry to stay fun like it has been. They (PU) hasn't gotten any national attention for their classes outside of this magical senior class this year, so I had to ask. Your homer answer makes it seem like we should all know about big bag purdue's class... when nothing about it has even been published.

---- Thanks Rob for giving me some GOOD insight. Looks like they'll be fine off. Maybe take a hit the next season or two because of depth and definitely experience, but Matt Painter is a good coach. Some IU fans don't give him much credit but I'll say he's surprised me the past 5 years. Done a lot better than I imagined he would.
