...i'm not focused... ...1/3 of my brain is posting, 1/3 of my brain is actually trying to complete a task at work, and the last 1/3 is doing its best to ignore my UT obsessed co-worker as he's trying to show me the "Miracle at South Bend" on YouTube... I said by class dedicated not individual talent. The sport is a team game not individual. Think of it like the 2007 class Purdue's was ranked higher than IU's but IU landed EJ he was ranked higher than any Purdue player. |

Hardly anyone makes a profit betting on sports. I don't think you'd be the exception. Saying Tom Crean is the harding working coach in the county and most emphatic about his job is being a big fucking homer. That is a fact. |

I'm not sure I understand the original post. You say, "I don't know shit about Purdue basketball and I shouldn't know shit." Then you say, "We haven't heard of any high profile recruits committing to PU in like 2 years." Well which is it? Either you follow Purdue basketball and haven't heard about any recruits, or you don't follow Purdue basketball and shouldn't expect to hear about any recruits. They have 2 4-star guys coming in this year and 2 4-star guys committed for 2012. And from everything I hear, Terone Johnson has outclassed every guy he's faced. He went from unranked to #51 in the country. You don't make a jump like that if you haven't been tearing it up against good competition. Purdue may not be as good when the Big 3 graduate, but that's to be expected. Classes like that are rare for any school. But to somehow think they will fall off the face of the earth or that Indiana is going to dominate them for the foreseeable future is a little crazy. Painter is going to continue to get good recruits, especially with the plethora of talent in Indiana. Even if IU gets back to prominence, you can't expect us to dominate Purdue. Even in our best years with Coach Knight, we had a losing record against Purdue. Anything can happen in a rivalry. That is something you should be well aware of by now. You don't know shit about Purdue basketball yet the tone of your post jokes about our team and the fallout if this senior class doesn't reach the FF. While at the same time you talk about IU's "reloading" like you signed a bunch of 5 stars......yet you're not a homer. Dreach is all over it. If you were really interested you'd ask the question without all the innuendo. Just STFU. |

I hope you know that I was just kidding with you boilergrad. I think it is quite funny that everyone has posted but the guy this thread was intended for. Dreach summed it up best and as long as Painter keeps getting good in-stated talent like he has, he will continue to compete. They may not be all 5 star players, which we don't have either, but they are from the state of Indiana and everyone knows Indiana kids play a damn good brand of basketball. Also, to put a nail in the coffin, Painter can flat out coach, no matter the talent on his squad. |

Agreed w/ Dreach. Painter is getting good solid kids that WANT to play in his system and play at Purdue. I'm fine with that-the man develops talent and if its homegrown, aka-Indiana boys, then even better. All we have to worry about is that pesky out in Matt's contract at the end of this year. Ol' Morgan Burke better give the man the money he's worth if our program is maintain its current state. |

If we can get our bigs to develope will be just fine. Lew jack will a 4yr starting point guard, TJ looks like the real deal, and im really excited about Anthony Johnson, this guy was the leading scorer on a State champion and a state runner up at the highest level in Ill on a team that was filled with D1 players. And 2012 has some really good players in Davis and Simpson and Molok seems like a very athletic PG. And with having our 2012 class wrapped up early it has allowed Painter to get a good jump on the 2013 class so lets hope that pays off. All in all im really excited about future of Purdue basketball after this year. Will be just fine. |
