Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

bg you honestly really piss me off at times. I'm being blunt about this, and straight forward. I don't know shit about PU basketball and I shouldn't know shit about PU basketball, so I have to ask someone whose advice and answer is credible and not 100% homer vision (such as you).

We havent heard of any high profile recruits committing to PU in like 2 years so I was jw if PU is gonna be back in the shithole after this year.
You don't know shit about Purdue basketball yet the tone of your post jokes about our team and the fallout if this senior class doesn't reach the FF. While at the same time you talk about IU's "reloading" like you signed a bunch of 5 stars......yet you're not a homer.

Dreach is all over it.

If you were really interested you'd ask the question without all the innuendo. Just STFU.
Yeah, that goes with being a rival and me not really giving a shit about how they do. If they're a good team (like now) I will acknowledge that and give them credit where it's due.

I joke, I poke, I give you guys shit because it's what we do... but I seriously wanted to know what you guys would be looking like in a year or 2. Or what direction you guys will be in. Like I said, I like Painter. It's all a fun thing to me really... and if I was interested in engineering I would probably be going to PU now. Some of you guys are just a little too sensitive and need to stop taking the estrogen hormone pills.

I mean no harm, just want answers! :wanker: :priest:

We'll be fine. I don't think Purdue will be a top 5 team yearly, and obviously losing 3 first team B10 guys and potential all-Americans at once will create a drop off, but the program is on solid ground. I think there's more talent here and in the pipeline than there ever has been at Purdue, and hopefully this years team can make a run and make things better. Painter got this current team to commit in the midst of a 16-40 stretch, I think he'll be even more effective with some winning and the $100 million renovation to Mackey.

And recruiting is fine. After the '07 class, we've signed a guy who will be a 4 year start at PG, 3 top 100 guys in the '09 and '10 classes. In the top 3-5 with about 3 more '11 kids. And 2012 brings 2 more top 100 guys. 2013 is looking good early. As was stated above, the development of our bigs is important to the future, but we are pretty well stocked at guard and on the wing with guys that are talented but most importantly fit our program and it's core philosophies.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Quite true, but Makey does have a nice historic feel about it and I think they wanted to keep that. It's a rather unique arena with the raised floor and the old fashioned metal ceiling. It just has that classic warm basketball feeling to it, I don't know how to describe it but I'm glad we aren't starting from scratch.

What are most stadium ceilings made out of now? This worries me..

Plastic? Aluminum? Biodegradable materials?

I just meant the dome and the look of it is of an older fashioned arena. I understand that most roofs are made out of metal :p.

We all know that the Assembly Hall floor is made of cardboard... IU always looks better on paper! *rim shot*
