Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

So classes start back up at Western tomorrow. I'm still working on getting everything packed into my car for the trip, and needless to say I'm a little overwhelmed. It's tough fitting your whole life in a 12x12 (if that!) dorm room with another chap. Xbox stuff, 40" flatscreen, plastic dresser, huge ass suitcase, laptop, grooming supplies (ConAir kit), paraphernalia, more clothes, bedding. Yikes.

I was going to bring my Logitech speaker setup and my printer but I'm not sure I'll have room in the Impala! When you stuff one of those to the rim, you know you have too much shit lol.

I've already had a dandy time arguing with my "academic ADVISERs" about what classes I should/need to take. I've got 1 semester in, and 3 more years before I can even apply for the business college and they're trying to say I "have" to take their 5 times a week college algebra this semester. Colleges are scams... I could take math at Ivy Tech for a fraction of the price in the summer. For $17,000, I want to take the classes that I want to take, you dig?

So what semester/year are most of you fellas that are in school? I guess technically I'm a sophomore, but credit wise I'm still a freshman. Here's to one last shitty year in the dorms!

Moving all your shit is never fun. I lived somewhere different every year at IU and now I'm in the Army living in Korea. The only good thing about moving now, is my employer moves my shit for me and then pays me for it. Got to love the government.

My brother just transfered to IU and moved into his place a few days ago. He had problems with advisors as well. I told him to push himself academically but don't get to wrap up taking this class or that class. As long as you have a plan and your on track for your degree. I think college students should spend more time on networking, internships, and working different jobs.
Before joining the Army I was a director of a fitness center. I couldn't tell you how many people came to me for a job right out of college and never worked a job.

I'm starting my MBA this fall and for some reason I don't think it will be as fun as my time at IU. Have fun and enjoy your soph/fresh year. Best time of your life.

Once you get into your school at IU the advisors are actually pretty good. The University Division ones are whatever, but I always appreciated IU's advising stance: they can give you advice about classes, and how to take them or when -- but they can never force you to take anything. Your college career is what you make of it.

Man, I just graduated from WKU last May, and now they're about to start up another year. Feels strange being out of school and out in the working world now. I'm already missing college life.

I was able to get my own room in Southwest Hall my senior year. It was actually a suite because I had to share a bathroom with another guy, which connects our rooms. But I'd rather share with one guy rather than 50 others on a floor. Have a good semester, tamazing.

You should come and tailgate for IU @ WKU on September 18th. Seriously. What did you major in?

I'm in business, thinking about human resources... but I have a bunch of ideas. Flipping real estate is always a great side job if you know what you're doing. In person I'm really easy to be friends with, and I know how to do business ethically (unlike a lot of sob's in southern indiana honestly) so who knows what will come of it. Of course it would be ideal to own my own business, but we'll see.

I'm just fuckin ready for basketball season. They better stream games online on bigtennetwork, I'm not sure I get the channel here in Bowling Green. I will be fuckin irate if not.

I majored in broadcast journalism and am currently working under contract at the Evansville Courier & Press. If you're living in the dorms, then you won't be able to get BigTenNetwork on your TV. You can always go to a place like Buffalo Wild Wings to watch it, though.

Do you know many people in the advertising department?

One of my good buddies just got a job there about a week ago. I'm not sure how many people they employ and how many paths you cross.
