| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! When I was out in Montana and up in Banff, Canado on my vacation, I saw where Kensucky got to play scrimmage games with Canadian schools. How is this possible? How can they be allowed to do this before the semester starts? It just seems like the NCAA makes up rules as they go and don't enforce the ones they have. Please enlighten me on this subject. Was it like the European/foreign trips schools get to make every couple of years? Purdue went to Australia in 2008. |

And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed Meat is Murder. Sweet, delicious murder. | |

Grammar hasn't been my strong suit. Thanks for the correction. I have a Master's Degree and still can't get my grammar down. I am much better than I use to be. |

That could be. Can incoming freshman play if they haven't started school yet? Just curious. |

If I had $1 for every time I've heard "I seen" instead of "I saw," I would probably have around $150. I've not been the type to have a distinguished ability beyond belief to choose my future occupation on, but English definitely was hammered in hard as a youngster. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the English program we had at Mt.Vernon high school is right up there with the best around. This college level English has been nothing but review and easy shit from as early as 10th grade English in high school. 10 page paper's were the norm in high school, and I've only had an 8 page paper so far in English. My English 200 professor this semester just so happens to be my roommate/best friend's grandmother. We're both playing it off like we don't know her in class, while secretly we're getting dictionaries, books, etc. behind the scenes. Granted we'll have to do some work, but let's just say up to English 300 I'm set in college. I could easily minor in English. Now math, that takes a lot more applied work on my part. But for some reason, English just comes easy to me. I can see how it can be nearly impossible to master for foreigner's though! So much slang! P.S. Fuck Kentucky |

Sorry to be an English Nazi but "I seen" is like nails to a chalkboard for me, for whatever reason. |

Trust me, I didn't get into college on my grammar skills. For me Math comes easy and that it is how I got into college. I was rated in the top 2% in the nation on my math score on my SAT but for English, I probably ended with somewhere around a 400 or 450, can't remember but I know it was really low and they accepted me with the condition that I had to take the lowest English courses. :banghead: Who would of thought I would have ended up with a Master's degree. |

No big deal, I completely understand. Whenever I write papers, reports, etc for work or school, I have one of my grammar perfect coworkers proof read. I don't have the same advantage on this board other than you and others on this board. |

I can't stand it when people correct grammar in perfectly understood sentences. If you understood what someone said with incorrect grammar, then there's no need to waste everyone's time explaining how it should have been worded because grammar rules only exist to make it easier for someone to understand the meaning. |
