The guy picked last in gym class

So if bad recruits come, then 'Crean can't recruit'. If good ones come, it's because 'it's IU'. Lame. http://scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=8&c=1&nid=1813570 |

What is the point in posting the Malik Story transfer? Post all the article on the fact what Crean would do all again the previous summer or the impact of their lose. It is getting kind of old that you keep trying to rub Malik Story in Evil's face. Obviously he is changing his tune about IU recruiting and he may not ever give Crean credit, at least in the immediate future. Over time he may give in and say yes he can recruit and, with talent, he can coach. Then again, he may make us all eat crow. ;) |

It's like I told all the other haters, UK and UofL have commitments from fuckin 6th and 7th graders.... We can't help it the domino's have started to fall! Cheers, we have a 5* on the map. Now NOBODY can bitch about Crean's "poor recruiting" or "wasted schollies." Told-everyone-this-would-take-place. One after another, watch and smile. Edited by tAmazingHoosier, Sep 3 2010, 05:00 PM.

You have to be smarter than that. If bad recruits come, it's because Crean wasted scholarships chasing guys who have no business being here..........which is what I've said since day 1. |

hmm.. seems like he recruited maybe below our standards the first couple of years when we were practically begging guys to come here, but i haven't seen him chase anyone lately.. |

and you can't blame this: http://rivals.yahoo.com/wku/basketball/recruiting/player-David-Williams-82383 on crean. clearly ro mcleod's fault (which is why he doesn't have a job). |

Sorry, but Crean is responsible for giving guys like that the power to make recruiting decisions. I do blame a coach for offering a scholarship to a kid he only saw in open gym or whatever it was. |

secondly, that was in Crean's first year. My point is that he hasn't been recruiting losers lately. Seems like things have picked up.. |

Evil you have to be the lamest, most boring sports fan to associate with in person. Seriously man, you need a lift in your life or somethin. It's not that everything you say is doubtful, it's just negative as fuck 95% of the time. |

It's honest. It's factual. It's based entirely on what has happened. IU has won 16 games in 2 years......has recruited a bunch of crappy players....and has a coach who has crapped the bed against a lot of opponents.....I'd say 95 percent is just about right. I'm guessing he's referring to Nick Williams, Malik Story, Matt Roth, Tom Pritchard, VO, Sheehey, and David Williams. Of those, Crean is responsible for 4. However, it should be considered that IU was in the bottom of the bottom, we were literally begging people to come here. Year 1 in the Crean era was basically a slightly organized YMCA squad. I would beg to differ on Sheehey and Oladipo being wasted schollies. Of course, it's too early to tell, but they seem like solid role players. My guess is that he would even say VJ is a wasted scholarship, which is an absolute joke. I agree that he has room to improve on defense, but he's been unquestionably the biggest pleasant surprise in the last two years (and in a while for that matter). At the Big Ten tournament, I heard several people from a range of different schools (Minnesota, NW, Illinois, and Purdue) talking about how good VJ is. EVIL is just too blind to admit that he was wrong about him. |

You were the one that called Malik Story's scholarship a good one....and that was after you had seen him play nearly half a season at IU. Therefore, you have zero right to talk about someone's ability to judge talent and recruit. |
