| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! This weekend was the Adidas/IU Credit Union Classic in Bloomington. In the first match, the 20th ranked Hoosiers dropped a 2-1 contest to California in double overtime. Although dominating the match from start to finish, leading shots 16-4, the Hoosiers let slip a goal with 4 minutes remaining. Will Bruin was the scorer for the Hoosiers. In the second game (this afternoon) vs. #5 UCLA, the Hoosiers dominated the Bruins winning 5-1. Will Bruin netted a hat trick; Alec Purdie added a goal, and Andy Adlard put away a penalty late in the first half. After the first two games it's clear to see a decided improvement over any of the Freitag-era teams. The midfield has been solid led by Cam Jordan, and IU is once again controlling possession and setting up our forwards in good position, something which was frequently lacked in previous years. Freshmen Nikita Kotlov (North Central HS) and Harrison Petts (Zionsville HS) are regulars in the lineup for the Hoosiers, and it'd be difficult to tell they're freshman. They certainly have a bright future ahead of them. Wake Forest transfer Chris Estridge has also been big in solidifying the back for the Hoosiers. Goal Scoring (2 games in): Will Bruin - 4 Andy Adlard - 1 Alec Purdie - 1 Despite the one loss, a VERY positive weekend for the Hoosiers. Definitely great to see after how poorly the team had played the last two seasons. The replay will be shown on Big Ten Network at 11pm tonight. Go Hoosiers! |

I have to feel for you guys. You have one sport where you are clearly better than your rival, and one of the better players is named "Purdue." :P |
