Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I refuse to judge Crean's coaching until his 2012 class is here. we knew from the start that was HIS class so I'm going to let it play out. from there, it's fair game.

Watford had a great second half. Thad Matta even made special note in his press conference about how much better he was this season. Evil judged two of Watford's games where he had back spasms. hahahahhaha.

Check the Oladipo thread.

Already addressed Watford.

Hulls is a good shooter, and generally plays hard but his size makes it tough for him to be effective on defense whether that's man or zone.
When you say you already addressed Watford are you referring to you saying he hasn't improved a lot and you aren't impressed with him just because he only accumulated stats against cream puffs?

Let's just be honest. You didn't think there was any way Crean would land all those recruits and that's why you said what you did. Cuz you didn't think you'd ever have to own up to it.. And not only did he get all those guys, he also got Yogi, 2 top 2013 guys AND 2 top 2014 guys. And you haven't shown any positivity or excitement about ANY of them. Your noticeable absence from the recruit threads is deafening.

It's not that you bash Crean all the time. It's that you bash Crean all the time without praising him for any of the good things he does. You show 0 excitement about the mere possibility of a bright future for IU. In fact, it seems you choose to not enjoy any of the good things about this program. How can anyone take your criticisms seriously if they don't believe you even care about the program to begin with?
Much like all of your other sports analysis(letting guys shoot wide open 3s as a strategy), you are way off base. I had no idea one way or the other whether or not Crean would get those guys. To me, those players are just potential and it really doesn't mean anything until they are on campus because kids back out of scholarships all the time. I said I would criticize him for signing them....like I criticized him for offering David Williams after an open gym session(turns out I was right).

You're right about what I said about Watford......and it looks like I was too. Did he score 17?.....yep. Was he weak inside and mysteriously losing the ball just like last year?....yep. Did he hit a few shot clock heaves from 3 point range against a team that was going through the motions defensively after they realized how easy we would be to beat?.....yep. Everyone else was talking about how he had gotten stronger and would be more of a force inside........I said once he started playing D1 talent he would revert back to the same guy he was last year.
Way to not address the most important part of my post.

How can anyone take your criticisms seriously if they don't think you even care about the program to begin with?

You're basically Cam coming on here and saying Michigan and Notre Dame lead for Yogi and Baylor leads for Perea. No one takes what he says about IU seriously because we all know he hates the program and doesn't want IU to succeed. You are the same way.

OK.........let's look at Watford's stats against the 5 major conference teams he has played this season.
http://espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=46241

159 minutes
22-60 from the field
22 total rebounds
2 assists
11 turnovers
5 steals
3 blocks

Yeah, he clearly didn't inflate his stats against creampuffs and struggles against D1 talent.

Some probably are, but others are finally starting to see exactly what I've been saying for a long time. Just because your opinion isn't popular or liked, doesn't mean that it is wrong. This is Crean's 3rd season and we still have no identity. Some of the fanbase have become Crean apologists and seem to not be worried that he can't even get these kids to play hard all the time. Part of the IU tradition is outworking people, and there are very few guys on this team that do that......and what's worse, the coach and parts of the fanbase don't hold these kids responsible. To me, that's bullshit.

I don't have these opinions to try to piss off IU fans......I have them because that's what I see. And I'm not going to back a coach that won't even bench kids who are unwilling to put forth the effort on the defensive side of the ball.
Now do you see it?

You are proving my point. You are basically saying that no one believes you or has listened to you all this time. We couldn't take your opinions seriously because no one believes you actually care about the program. If tomorrow you say, "Crean is an idiot. He should start Matt Roth." It doesn't matter how right you might be, no one will take it seriously because everyone thinks all you want to do is look for a reason to bash Crean.

No, you said that I am just like Crampy and only say these things because I don't want IU to be successful. I have been saying these things for a long time because I want IU to be successful. I said IU should play a tougher schedule because it will force their players to play at a higher level on a consistent basis instead of developing bad habits against inferior competition.........how in the hell does that translate to me not wanting IU to be successful? I criticize Crean for blowing potential wins at the end of close games and that's me not wanting IU to be successful?..........give it up, you are way off base.

how could you possibly criticize those recruits? that's like me promising not to criticize my next chalupa at Taco Hut.
the recruits are fine.....but the way Crean is coaching right now, he wouldn't win with MJ (1992) Kobe (2002), and Shaq (1998).
I'm pretty sure my 8-month old niece could win with Jordan, Shaq, and Kobe.
Not at Mackey. :gun:

And I would never say to start Matt Roth.....partly because he stinks and partly because I could really care less who he starts. Obviously you aren't going to start 5 guards, but being a 'starter' is the most overrated thing in basketball. It's who finishes games that matters.

Heaven forbid Crean getting a less talented team to overachieve...........like you know..........other really good coaches do.

I'm just telling you why no one has listened to you for all these years. Because the impression you give off is that you don't like IU or want IU to be successful. That's just the way you come off. And because no one thinks you even like IU, no one has listened to your criticisms. You can say you love IU, but you show zero interest in any thread that's positive about IU or the program. Actions louder than words.
