And it makes no difference whether or not I'm rooting for the program or not. Idiotic coaching moves are idiotic coaching moves......who points them out doesn't matter. Bad scholarship offers are bad scholarship offers.....who points them out doesn't matter. Motives mean nothing, information means everything. I'm not making shit up, I'm observing what he is doing and commenting on it. On this forum, actions and words are the same things. I have commented on positive things, but you either don't read them or simply fail to acknowledge them. I would say your lack of being critical and making excuses for Crean is more of a detriment to the program than me pointing out obvious blunders. Atleast what I'm saying is in an effort to get the team to play at a higher level.....your comments are more of a rationalizing thought process that will keep this team mediocre. For example: You claim that not closing out on shooters is a defensive strategy to help the team......I see it as laziness and poor basketball IQ. |

Again, for the last time. Go back and check the thread. I didn't say that is a good defensive strategy. I merely said that's obvious what has been going on all season so why were people surprised when we weren't challenging the 3 against Penn State. If you were surprised Penn State was getting open looks from 3, then you haven't watched us very much this season. It wasn't an opinion. It was an observation. |

You said something to the effect of 'you want opposing team's big guys taking open 3s'. Stop twisting the conversation. If a guy is hitting 30% of his 3s while being contested, what percentage do you think he shoots when he has an uncontested look?....gotta be closer to 40. If you hit 33% of your 3s, that's the same amount of points per shot as 50% from 2 point range.....it's dumb and if that is the strategy then more people need to be calling Crean out for it. IU leaves guys wide open because their defensive IQ sucks donkey dick. They are horrible in zone rotation. This falls directly on the coach......which has been my point all along. |

When Bobo said it was PSU's big guys taking 3's, I said we were letting them because we didn't want them to move inside. Are you trying to contend that IU's perimeter guards are not cheating down low and then not getting out to cover the 3-point shooters? Cuz that's all I'm saying. |

Evil defines beating a dead horse. I couldn't care less if that's your opinion but you're like the spinning record of doom. Evil is the guy at a really fun party that whines because the punch isn't good. |

I think my real resolution this year is to make going to the gym a regular thing. I did a decent job last year, but I could still do a better job at going at a more consistent rate. |

BULL-shit. Anytime anything good has happened for the program, you've pulled a disappearing act. You're only happy when you're miserable. We all know guys like you in real life. |

Do not classify me as one of THOSE kids. I go to the gym far more often than just the first two weeks of the semester and then quit going. This past semester, I went as many as 6 times a week, and then some weeks I didn't go at all. I just need to make it a regular habit and have some consistency. |

I'm about 10,000 evil/dreach threads behind (and won't be catching up), however I can interject something here. I have actually known Evil since he was 15 years old, and I will tell you that he was always a TRUE IU FAN. Yeah, he was critical even back in the 90s when we were winning B10 championships.....but we weren't sitting in study hall talking about Glen Robinson's stupid shot, or Gene Keady's poor coaching move......because he doesn't give a shit about their program....he's an IU guy, even if his criticism on here makes you believe otherwise. ![]() The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism. | |

You greatly underestimate her motivational skills. Anyway, since all threads seem to have turned into debating whether or not we can criticize Crean, I'll throw my two cents in. As others have said Crean has earned a few more years, so I'm going to avoid criticizing him directly for now. The last thing we need is recruits to start wondering about our coaching stability again. That said, there's nothing wrong with ever questioning his coaching strategy or decisions. It might seem like a slight difference, but to public perception, I think it's huge. |
