Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Rendardo Sidney, the once highly recruited player from Fairfax County was suspended last year for Mississippi State for receiving improper benefits. His suspension ended two games ago, when he returned to play against VTech. MSU is playing in the tournament in Hawaii, and on Monday Sidney was suspended for "conduct detrimental to the team" for the first round game in Hawaii. This happened tonight while watching another tournament game shortly after Sidney played well in their second round game vs. San Diego.

The man he was caught on video physically assaulting was apparently the senior team captain/leader. i'd be stunned to see him play another college basketball game. terrible, terrible decision from a kid who was once thought of as a sure fire lottery pick.

Yeah, I'd obviously like to see him do well, especially after the harsh upbringing he had in Fairfax. The kid was basically taken advantage of, and sold to USC's Tim Floyd once upon a time. Gotta feel bad for a kid when the only parental guidance in your life are 30-something AAU coaches who basically want to sell you off like a basketball prostitute. Given that, it's still an absolutely disgusting decision made by a kid who's been in college for now three semesters. He knows better, and doing it in a public setting makes it all the worse. Fighting is never good, but fighting your own teammates is the worst. There's a special layer in hell for those types.

I just saw this on ESPN and am just shocked. If Sidney is not kicked off the team, then Mississippi State has no morals whatsoever. You never ever fight with your teammate especially in a public setting. This is like with Jelan Kendrick at Memphis, and he ended up being kicked off the team before playing one game. This is just a disgusting act, and I have no sympathy for this kid.

To add to what veech said, I hope MSU comes down really hard on Sidney here. I'm not sure if this falls into the NCAA's jurisdiction, but if it does, they need to step in too. We have to send the message to younger generations of basketball players that this type of conduct cannot be tolerated. If MSU doesn't send him packing after now three acts that incited suspension, that's just crazy.

I think i would have to know what led up to that incident before i make any judgements. People get in fights. It happens. Football players get in fights all the time in practice. It is unfortunate. Especially since it was caught on camera, but until some facts come out I can't say it is "disgusting."

But it was done in the stands where many innocent people were sitting. These are two large guys. They could have easily injured someone else. Since it hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet, I want to point out that these guys are actually roommates and Bailey considered Sidney to be a "little brother." Well, I certainly would never get into a fist fight with my brother like that.

Obviously but given a choice its a no brainer. Pretty ridiculous video. What the hell was he thinking?

Lol, when I first read/heard the story I thought it said Elgin Baylor. I was like, Sidney would absolutely destroy that old man.
