Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

More than anything Sheehey just needs to build up. I agree he's got a lot of potential himself and is a very heady player for a freshman... but his size is an obvious spot of improvement. That will come. He's athletic with the body he has and in high school it got him by but in the Big Ten he's got to add at least 10-15 more pounds of muscle if he wants to be the slasher we could use him to be.

besides the top 10 or so prospects in each class, what college freshman can't you say that about?

I like how you're starting to become excited about him coming here. Glad you're turning the corner.

I'm a cautiously optimistic person. Cautious that he might not come here, optimistic that now he is!

You're gonna love the kid. Might get frustrated at times until he bulks up a bit (like you said, it's a freshman thing), but there's no doubt in my mind you're going to love him.

Get to watch him play two times in the next two weeks too (to/too/two lesson). I'm excited....hope he plays like he did against Bosse.

I've seen him play AAU many a times. A high school game once. It's my opinion that he can/will be a dominant rebounder from day one. offense may not be the same, but he can at least score so people will have to respect that. plus we won't need to worry about him taking ill-advised shots down low. i can't wait to have the kid on our side, truth be told.

Amen, brother! We will definitely find out whether Crean can coach big guys in the coming years. While he may not be an athletic freak (although I think he's fairly athletic for a person his size), he has the total package that you're looking for in a big man; rebounds like a machine, has a bevy of post moves down low, can handle the ball for a player his size, and can step back and shoot as well.

If nothing else, you know the kid is going to rebound and will play big minutes. No doubt it should help out, especially as it will allow Watford to play the 3 legitimately. I hate to wish my life away, but damn I wish it was November of 2011 right now.

I like Victor a lot. His energy needs to become contagious. His shot is better than I thought. He takes too many chances and seems to want to finish with a Sportscenter highlight all the time. But that's just youth. Nice player.

To keep the positivity going, was anybody else encouraged by Creek's last game? I think he showed that he is starting to trust his knee more by driving to the basket and getting some shots to fall. He still needs to keep working and trusting his outside game, but I was pleased with how he played at times last game. Hopefully he can build off that 5 minute stretch where he was driving to the rim.

Absolutely!

I really liked him pulling up on those 2nd half shots on back to back possessions. His 3 is still wayyyy off though, but I guess it will take.

unfortunately i was not impressed. he is nowhere near the explosive player he was prior to injury. he is struggling to create his own shot and is not mixing it up as much off the ball in the interior. yes, good to see him hit a couple shots. but i did not think his drives toward the basket, the few there were, were that impressive or demonstrated the level of athleticism that a healthy creek surely will. i really don't see his game coming around till next fall.

The problem with Creek is partly that he's still recovering, but also partly that he is not as good a player as he played last year. If he hadn't gotten injured he would have come back down to earth eventually. Now he's back down to earth AND recovering from an injury.

That's a very good point, Dreach. There's no way he was going to play during the BT season last year like he was before he got hurt. We were all enamored by the way he played during the Kentucky game and really got out hopes up. I think he would have had a good Big Ten season, but not as good as he was playing.

Going to be an excellent player, but we need to have some patience with him. The thing I love is by every report is a gym rat like none other. It sounds like he in constantly in the gym, so I don't doubt that he'll return to a really, really good player. At least I hope so. If he doesn't it won't be from a lack of effort.
