Wasn't that suppose to be the focus of this years team? I thought we were suppose to be a better defensive team, but it seems as if teams/players have their career nights against us. :banghead: |

Playing all of those crappy teams taught them that you don't have to play tough defense on bad teams, they will miss shots and shoot themselves in the foot. Unfortunately, those bad habits have continued to carry over against teams with major conference D1 talent. The lack of defensive awareness/IQ is ridiculous. Oladipo is the only guy I see who is challenging everything. |

I thought there were times where the IU man to man looked pretty good, very active......certainly more active on the perimeter than the zone. But Sullinger made it hard to stay in it. Dakich had it pretty much pegged IMO. The effort was certainly there for IU. The kids didn't give up. Watford looked good. Most of his shots were jumpers but he's better on the outside. Besides the shooting% and the fouls the stats were fairly close. OSU only had 6 more boards. They seemed to mail it in the second half. I think OSU's defense is better than they showed today. They better be. I also saw some good things coming off dribble penetration for IU. Rivers' passing looks better this year. He should get minutes. |

VJ's (aka VAG) unofficial final state line as detected by me, I missed the first 5 minutes: 5 turnovers, at least 4 defensive laspes, 4 terrible shots, and 9 total points. I don't know how many assists, but I don't care because the 5 turnovers, 4 defensive laspes, and 4 terrible shots out weigh that. The guy plays with little or no emotion and has no basketball IQ. The guy has progressively gotten worse. :banghead: |

I'm not buying that OSU mailed it in. Sullinger had to sit with 4 fouls and they suddenly lost their interior advantage. |

At least we finally agree of something! I think IU's effort was much better in the second half, but that may be who was on the floor a lot. ;) |

The frustrating thing has got to be that when he does what he does best and lets the game come to him he can be a scoring machine. Again Dakich got it right. Jones can be a great shooter, especially from mid range. The guy always plays well against us. He just forces way too much. |

you guys realize that the closest anyone has gotten to OSU has been 11. it's not like IU is the first team to lose big to them. oh, and if we would have played like we did last night against PSU we'd be 1-1 in conference play. |

OSU was not trying to lock us down.....that much was very obvious. They didn't feel threatened at any point last night. They went 8 minutes without making a shot from the field and still won on the road by almost 20......that's how threatened they were all night. Edited by Evilempire, Jan 1 2011, 04:12 PM.
