Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

And as I brought up, Bob, sometimes not only do we say to ignore, but the people in charge tell you to break it.

Screw that. If I got away with that in a championship game situation, I wouldn't say a word.
I have no doubt that I would as well.

On a separate subject, it's disgusting how many high school coaches teach their players how to skirt the rules.....i.e., how to set an illegal pick and not get caught, or teach their offensive lineman to hold but hide it so it doesn't get called.
isn't that basically part of the game now....if it is going to be played like that in college and pro, I guess they have to learn it.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

I wouldn't tell my kid to inform the ref of his mistake.....basketball doesn't work on an "honor system" like golf.....the officials make the call, and I tell my kid to respect that call EITHER WAY. Still a good commercial though.

Bobbob,

I see your point that parenting is hard and parents should teach kids to be honest and have integrity. I kinda hijacked te thread and apoligize. I just do not fully understand the purpose of Foundation for a better life.

I love that one. I wonder if anything like that has really happened. If so, I would say we have come a long way in how we deal with the mentally challenged. My high school was the only school in the district who had the special ed programs, so they all went there....and unfortunately, they were made fun of by far too many kids. I actually got in a fist fight my senior year as a result of me defending a challenged girl....and the principal ended up basically not punishing me at all because of the nature of the situation.

We had a great special eds program at my high school as well. But no one would make fun of them. That's just beyond low and classless.

My high school also once picked a handicap kid to be homecoming king. But he wasn't born with a disability. I actually played on a basketball team with him once. He was in to motocross and had a terrible accident that made him paralyzed from the chest down. Really sad story.

Well, there are tons of them that have been created....it's just probably the head scratchers that you remember.

From what I've read, the Foundation for Better Life was started from a $700 million endowment from Phillip Anschultz, a very rich conservative investor. He has invested in everything from Major League Soccer to family friendly films like Holes and the Chronicles of Narnia.

There certainly are worse things he could have done with $700 million.

Coincidence? We'll let the OHB members decide. :P
