Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

In our seven losses, we've averaged 11 turnovers. In our nine wins, we've averaged 17.

While making silly turnovers is important not to do, the number of turnovers by itself is not that telling. Sometimes a low number of turnovers indicates a passive offensive effort and a high number indicated an agressive one.

And once again this is where stats don't tell the entire story. In the wins, IU was playing bottom feeders. They were more careless with the ball because they had a superior talent advantage(I mentioned this earlier how teams can get away with that when they have such an advantage). I don't know for a fact, but because they scored a lot of points in some of the games I'm guessing they also had more possessions which should lead to more turnovers if their turnover rate is fairly constant.

Can turnovers indicate whether or not you are being aggressive offensively?.......maybe. I would think a better measuring stick would be foul shot attempts. If you are being aggressive, you are taking the ball to the basket which normally leads to more fouls on the opposition.

Yep I actually read it here in this thread, turnovers are a good thing. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

We need a scratching head emoticon because that is really what I am doing about that comment rather than banghead, which is all we have.

Here is a good one for you Btown: yernuts

I am saying that one guy contributes to at least a third of those 11. He still continues to average 4 turnovers per game and the rest of the team averages 7. I bet Watford is responsible for a least two or three of those, which means you get 50% of your turnovers from two players. I do think they handle the ball more, but so does Hulls and he doesn't turn the ball over at an alarming rate and seems to be more aggressive this year. VO doesn't seem to turn the ball over that much either and he seems aggressive and he is a freshman.

I wasn't talking about turnovers in relation to the 2010-2011 Indiana Hoosiers in the first place.
