Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

did you happen to see the clip they showed at halftime with the team in the tunnel right before the game.......I wouldn't exactly call that pumped up. There's a motivation issue right now, that might not go away with this team.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

I agree. It's like a spark gets lit in them with 8 minutes to go. WTF. seriously if they play like that for 40 minutes they'll like the results they get.

Well, at least for those that think Crean should use the pine to educate, he did with Watford.
And it worked. ;)

It is called lack of leadership and Crean needs to get them up, since we don't have it.

some groups click, some don't. starting to look like this sophomore class just cannot motivate a consistent effort, and the junior class doesn't help either. pretty pathetic if you ask me. when crean does have a timeout there is more often than not a good looking possession and a notable uptick in intensity...and then...after a minute or two it just disappears. very very disappointing and cannot necessarily pin it on crean.

i'm at a loss really. at this point i'd just play any kid who wore it on his sleeve...the freshmen (might as well, anyone over sophomore year is looking like dead weight pretty quick) and pick of the day. will say i liked the way capo went after a couple boards and out of nowhere pulled the best post move we've had this year out of his ass.

watford needs to decide (maybe it's not just his decision) what kind of player he is. speaks also, i know, to the lack of a full roster to fill positions. but, right now he looks at a loss out there regarding expected role.

creek simply should not be playing. it pains me to say this, but he is just nowhere near ready to contribute at this level.

we shoot okay in general. we assist. we just don't play intense, competitive basketball on anything approaching a consistent basis.

next game (not sure it matters), why not start with hulls, sheehey, oladipo, rivers, capo? at least our bench would be solid, right?

and elston should be banned, by team rules, for 2 to 3 games...how disappointing...

2 to 3 games.

he'll get punished. not 2 or 3 games punished, likely looking at a loss for a certain number of halves/minutes, maximum. it was definitely a low blow out of frustration, and i don't like seeing it, but 2 or 3 games (even one game) might be a bit drastic. there are other ways to deliver the message that that's not indiana basketball.

didn't dumas get one game for an elbow at michigan st.? i thought this was as bad, likely worse, a display of sportsmanship. i'll settle on two games.

the reason why i think dumes got two games (he actually got one and his daughter was sick for another, but we'll call it two) was because he was a repeat violator. two elbows in one game.

elston has just the one trip. it was bad, but he's not a repeat violator. slap him on the wrist, make him realize his mistake, but pulling him for as much as 10% of the season is a lot.

alright, you've put forward a good argument and i want us to have the best chance of winning...so i'll go down to 1 game. but i've got to draw the line there...

if elston gets suspended for more than a game for that i will write an essay about why tom Pritchard is the best player on the team. if he gets less than a full game you have to do it. deal?

Didn't watch the last 10 minutes...I literally couldn't stand it anymore.

Sounded like a nice comeback by us though.

Looking at the box score, I definitely like seeing Verdell with only 2 turnovers and 9 assists.

Agreed; there is no team leader on this team. We need someone to be in the other players' faces at times and it's simply not there.

Oh yeah, we still need a big guy as well.

The need for a quality big man is about as glaring a weakness as I have seen on any team in all of sports ever.
