  • Is Vince Young delusional?
Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

If you had to pick a great QB with a mediocre defense, or a very good QB with a very good to great defense who would you pick?

...that is the $$$multi-million$$$ question and GMs (that are much, much, much smarter than any one on this board) have to answer every day...

...i, personally, would rather have a mean nasty defense with a decent qb...i have always been a fan of a solid defense and a solid running game (my Titans and Bears)...it just seems like it is sooo hard to find that "elite" qb...but you could have a defensive philosophy and just keep plugging guys in there and then get that qb every 10 years or so that is going to be able to do just enough to win...
I totally agree. I love seeing physical, nasty, bruising defenses that make you afraid to come onto the field and try to score. If you can get a guy that runs a system like, say, Matt Schaub, I think you can be a VERY competitive football team.
...exactly...

Are you guys crazy.......history would certainly say so.

In the last 18 years, there have only been 2....count em' 2 SuperBowl Champs without an "elite" quarterback. Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson are those 2 guys.

Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

3. No way is Eli Manning an Elite QB.

...first of all, i started by saying that is was a $$$multi-million$$$ question...

...second of all, over those 18 years, the Steelers and the Patriots also had an "elite" defense to go along with their "elite" qb...of course, an "elite" qb AND an "elite" defense is the ultimate goal...

...again, it is just so difficult to find that qb that is going to make that difference almost by himself...and to stay healthy for that matter...

...as a GM, i would rather have a defense that could keep my team in the game almost no matter who is playing qb...if one of these "elite" qbs gets injured then the team is basically fucked...if one of the "average" qbs gets injured, on an "elite" defensive team, then the team can still chug along (look at the Steelers this year - they won with Charlie Batch  )...
