Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Anyone know anything about this kid. I guess he may have just recently visited IU, but not sure, and is ranked the 16th best player in the nation by Rivals for the 2013 class.

What are our chances to land someone like this? Seems like there is a lot of teams on his list but I think he goes to the same school that VO went to.

Here is all I have:
Anya talks Hoosiers, influence of 'big brother'

Jeff Rabjohns
Peegs.com

No. 2-ranked 2013 center Beejay Anya talked with Peegs.com about Indiana, the schools he's hearing from and the guidance he gets from the former high school teammate he calls his 'big brother.'

I don't think we're leading for him... we've been on his radar for awhile now, but we did enter the game late. Although, like you mentioned, he is really good friends with Vic and played with him at DeMatha.

He's a force inside and what we could use badly in the future, well, now too... but definitely think Coach Crean, Buckley, Seltzer and the crew are going hard after Beejay.

Yeah, the big brother reference is referring to VO. They went to the same highschool together and him and VO were pretty close... close enough they consider each other brothers so he refers to VO as his "big brother". He likes IU a lot but he's still got a lot of options on the table so time will tell.

Dedicated, no using "!" in the title when discussing recruits please. I know you usually do that, but I still can't help but get a bit excited each and every time.

I will make a note of it. I tried to go back in and edit the title, but for some reason it won't let me.

I was just excited that we have a guy like that linked to VO on our radar. I hope we have a real shot at him. We could use another big man down low and that 2013 class should be about getting a nice big to fit into that class.

Haha, no worries.

He'd be a great get as he's an absolute bruiser. Not as talented, but he's built a lot like Sullinger at Ohio State. I believe he's around 6'8 and 250 pounds.

Nice!

I think PJ could be a great compliment to our current players, but if he doesn't get over his stress fracture problems, we're going to have to start thinking about alternatives.

If you have a BeeJay, you don't need a Peter Jurkin.

I know that was coming. Freaking hilarious.!!!

I think we could have another center on this team, which would allow CZ to play his more normal position. If we don't land him, then we just have PJ and CZ as our center/forward positions. Nothing else comiing in for 2012 or 2013 as far as a center position. Hanner would be there, but is more of a power forward and not center.

From what I've heard, PJ has a lot to go skill wise. Seems that Peter Jurkin is very raw.

He's not the size of your typical center, but with his raw athleticism, I think Hanner could guard most centers in the BT. He may have trouble against some, but for the most part, I think he's fair just fine, especially if he gains a few more pounds. Plus, by that time, Cody may be big enough to guard the center and allow Hanner to roam a bit. If one of them leaves early, that would certainly throw a wrinkle in that plan, but those two together make the perfect 4-5 combo IMO.

12' is gonna be a fun year. So many possibilities of awesomeness.
