Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

And I'm a 49er fan, so there is no homerism being spewed in any direction. Forgot about Tim McDonald......that was one of the best secondaries ever assembled.

Elway didn't win a title until his last two seasons. And he had a he'll of defense before that.

And Elway choked big time in his first two superbowls...25 of 64 with 5 picks. Even in his first superbowl win, he just was along for the ride....12 of 23 with no tds, a pick, an 123 yards. If you want to look at the biggest flops in history, check out Elway's performance against the redskins in the superbowl.....5 of 15 with 2 picks.

In terms of the 49ers overpowering San Diego....that wasn't the defense. They gave up 26 points. Young threw for over 300 yards, SIX touchdowns (no picks) AND led the miners in rushing. In fact, he didn't throw a single pick in that postseason. If you want to talk about defense, then note that in 1993 it was the miners defense -- not Young -- that kept them from beating Dallas in the NFC championship.

You are correct in that there isn't a single way to measure qbs.....but Elway was a product of myth, not reality. Kelly and Marino were both tons better....anyone who tells you differently doesn't know football.
