  • OT: Pat Summit diagnosed with early onset dementia
Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Unfortunate. There's no cure either. I hope something works out for her.

Dealing with dementia pt are the second worst part of my job, it is very sad to see patient decline over time. The only part of my job that is worse is transferring hospice patients

What is it you do for a living? Are you a nurse or something else?

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

i have a grandmother with dementia. It really sucks to watch someone you love in the decline. There's nothing you can do and it tests the patience of the family. I have to re_introduce my fiance to her every time we meet.

I grew up wanting to show off my future spouse to my family. I'm coping with the idea that grandma will never really know the woman i love. It's a fucking shame. I think they would have had a great family relationship.

I was so sad to hear this news, especially knowing how bright of a basketball mind she is, and how good of an ambassador she has been for the women's game. Seriously, Geno Auriema could learn a thing or two about humility from Pat Summitt. I hope she continues to coach with good health for some time to come.

Now that I've said my piece I have to share this too. This isn't really "mean" per se, just ironic. I was looking at her Twitter page today, and look at the most recent tweet: http://twitter.com/#!/patsummitt

posted the wrong schedule, lol.

sorry, i couldn't resist.
