Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

We only have two road wins total (@ Penn State on 01-21-10 and @ Chaminade) in three years under Tom Crean. We also have 1 neutral court victory vs. Pitt in that timespan. Over that time period, I think we are 3-42 in games listed as away, semi-home, or neutral on kenpom.com. I believe that would also put our Big Ten road record at 1-27 over that time frame (not including BTT). Ouch all around.

18-13, 8-10.
I'm going 17-14, 7-11
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

That is why I didn't go with 20 wins. These current players haven't found success on the road yet. I think they will get at least one win on the road in the B10. It doesn't help either that 10 of their nonconference games are at home. It might help their overall record, but doesn't teach them how to win on the road.

That is what I have them at, except I think they will win 8 B10 games.

They are waiting for the Big Ten to release their schedules. Wisconsin's got leaked today, so it should be any day now.. But as far as an official date, there is none. The schedule is usually done by now, and I'm assuming that IU's OOC schedule has been complete for some time now.

FYI -- the IU vs. Notre Dame game at Conseco Fieldhouse is 12/17 (a Thursday).
12/17 is a saturday.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

Well this one is hard to predict because we have pretty much everyone back from last year along with the addition of Zeller, but I don't want to get over zealous like I did last year; therefore I will say (drum roll please)

18-15, 8-10, 1-1 B10 Tourney, and a seventh place finish in the B10.

I really think we could win a couple more games with that pre-season schedule, but I don't want to get let down this season.
This might be the first time you've put together a preseason prediction for IU basketball that I would consider to be in the realistic realm. Good to see the excitement of the offseason hasn't raised your expectations for the actual season to impossible heights.

In fact, I think 18 wins is a nice number to land on, so I'll go with that.

I guess it is true, you learn from your mistakes and I made two mistakes in a row. I finally came down to earth.

I was real close to saying 20 wins, but then reality stepped in. This team still needs to prove they can win on the road. I think 18 wins is realistic, but that is including a win in the B10 tourney.

Only 8 wins in the preseason. 10 of the 13 games are at home and the one road game is at Evansville. Surely they can win at least win 9.
