Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

what's "midnight madness"?
The event that opens basketball practices. It was originally held on campuses at Midnight, it's a general term for Late Night at the Phog (Kansas), Big Blue Madness (Kentucky), and Hoosier Hysteria (Indiana).

Think HH will be close to a sellout this year?

Yeah, when I hear Hoosier Hysteria, I think of the Indiana HS basketball state tournament, not a basketball practice with fans, so I used Midnight Madness.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Dakich commented on his show that he thinks Gary Harris will end up at IU. I sure hope he is right. He was about CZ.
I wouldn't rely on that too much. Remember that Dakich has a radio show and needs to keep the ratings up. His ratings were pretty high during the whole Zeller fiasco.

He also once said Jeremy Hollowell would end up at Purdue.

He almost was right. After all, Hollowell called Painter the night before he committed to IU and literally begged for a scholarship offer.

Haha I'd bet everything I own that that didn't happen.

I know...gotta love message board rumors though.

It would be fun to be on the staff of either of our schools (and actually be 'in the know') and take a jaunt to a message board occasionally and read some of the crap that is produced.

Apparently I agree, because even after reading what he said today, I feel the same way about Harris coming to IU as I did this morning.

I think Purdue, MSU, and Indiana all got what they wanted visit wise. Oct. 1 is the Purdue/Notre Dame football game which is a great day at Purdue. Obviously the Midnight Madness event has always been big for Indiana. And MSU has the last visit.

Should be interesting.
Honestly, I don't think the timing of any of the visits matter. If Purdue gets blasted by ND, do you think it really has much bearing on where he signs?

Most of the darts that Dakich throws miss the board.

I agree too. I was just making that comment, since I heard him say it today. I still think he ends up at either Purdue or MSU.

I do like listening to Dakich's show though. Not because he was an ex-IU player/coach, but because he gets down right obnoxious or rude to people who call in, his loyal listeners. He tells it like it is, but tends to be a butt about things and that is what is amusing about his show. He does have some good issues/points, but most of the time he is an ass to some of the people that call in and I find that humorous. ^_^
