Yes I do. It's not about Purdue winning, it's about the pre-game environment and what not. Lots of fans, lots of passion, just a really fun day on campus. I was there in '05 when ND destroyed our "perfect storm" team, but it was still an electric day. I don't know how important it is, but the visits can certainly help. Why do you think Indiana/Crean moved MM to Saturday to accommodate one recruit? The visit is pretty important. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Hollowell to Purdue stands out. DSR to Indiana. And he still thinks Ronnie Johnson is the best PG in Indiana, so take that for what it's worth. |

Sorry, but not buying it. If you think Purdue/Notre Dame is a big college game atmosphere.....I don't know what to say. We aren't exactly talking Michigan/Ohio State or Auburn/Alabama here. Too many people read too much into these things. His decision is going to based on basketball and where he fits the best. |

You're the worst. Of course it's not OSU/UM or Auburn/Alabama, but its a special weekend for Purdue. If youre a 4 year student at Purdue, the 2 home games against Notre Dame are weekends you remember forever. If fitting in basketball-wise is all that matters, he'd have made his decision months ago. I think you discount the campus experience/players' friendships a little too much. Edited by dçamden03, Sep 2 2011, 02:35 AM.

So he's going to form friendships the one day he visits? I would think prior relationships with players would trump that. The point is EVERY campus has those type of experiences. If he visits Indiana during MM and comes out of it thinking 'damn, IU went nuts for the first practice....nowhere else that I visited had that', then shame on him. Purdue/Notre Dame in football certainly isn't bigger than Michigan State/Michigan. |

I'm not saying Purdue/ND is bigger than anything!!! But go to the MTSU game this weekend, then go to the game on Oct. 1. There's just a different excitement and energy on campus than on every other weekend. It's not unique to Purdue, every campus has it's special events. My point is getting people on campus that day is a positive for Purdue, just like getting people to MM is positive for Indiana. It's not a deal breaker, or the sole reason someone will pick a school, but showing off your campus for a high profile, exciting event can do nothing but help your cause. |

I'll be at Purdue that weekend for the Lupe Fiasco concert. I went to the Purdue/ND game a couple of years ago when Purdue blew it. It was a pretty good weekend. |
