Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

That Tom Crean will do anything for attention!!!!

Joking aside, I hope he starts getting Ws on the court because off of it he's a great representative not only for IU, but the state of Indiana as well. I've heard many stories along these lines about CTC.

I can add a story. My wife and I were in Bloomington over the summer and we went to check out Cook Hall. Got out of the car and Coach Crean was leaving the building. We stopped and said hi and that we were here to check out the facility. He said it was closed. So he got Bennie Seltzer on the phone (who hadn't left yet) and told him to come open it up for us so we could check it out. Coach Seltzer propped the door open and just told us to close it one our way out so it would lock.

Was very appreciative as this was the 2nd time I'd come to see the building and it was locked.

That's pretty cool as well. I know my parents went to a game last year when the weather was less than good. After the game he got on the microphone and talked to the fans for a few minutes about appreciative he was of them spending their hard-earned money to come to a game with inclement weather. Just little things like that that he doesn't have to do but decides to do anyways. I know he helped look for Lauren Spierer as well. Never heard any good stories out of denim shirt that's for sure. Of course maybe Crean just has us all fooled, but on the surface, gotta give him props.

To be honest I have thought a lot of the stuff (his cheerleading, announcement after the big win they had last year which I can't really remember last now, etc.) Crean has been doing was purely for show. After reading this article, I can truly say my position on the guy has switched. Anyone can do the small things and put on an act for the fans because they are losing (what I believed he was doing) but to clearly go out of your way like the story in this article and looking for Lauren Spierer takes a genuine person. Hopefully once IU starts winning again he will maintain this mentality.

I totally agree blak_rob0. I really didn't like his cheerleading on the sidelines, but I didn't mind his enthusiasm, especially after the win against Illinois, but this and the Lauren Spierer ordeal really makes me think that no matter what he does, he goes all out. The cheerleading on the sidelines is just who he is and I am willing to accept that. He has done more positive for IU in his short period than MD and KSanction did combined. He will catch up to BK quickly because BK had a lot of negative baggage as well.

Crean for President!!! headbang2

His sideline demeanor is a little different than most, but that's just who he is. He isn't berating the officials or his players constantly, so I don't really have a problem with it.

And I don't get why anyone wouldn't love the way he acted after the Illinois game in the south lobby. The fans were stoked and he was just playing off their emotion. I thought it was awesome. Beats the hell out of a coach that you just see on the sidelines and nothing else.
