Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Word is on the strasse, he's really picked up his game since his injury plagued year last year. When we first recruited this guy, I didnt know a lot about any of the recruits, considering Im stationed outside the country and didn't always have the time to catch up with our recruits. My first thoughts were that he was going to be a project player but the more I read, Im thinking he's going to make an immediate impact. Thoughts on him? and I can post the article I've read or you can find it on Inside The Hall.

Hey Rockspeed, I already posted the article earlier this week. But you are right that he may make more of an impact than some might expect. He may have been the reason why Indiana Elite couldn't win tournaments this summer. It helps to have a 7 foot lengthy center patrolling the interior on the defensive end to alter and block shots. That alone is probably why Crean recruited him but he can pick up his offensive game then he may become more of complete player than we expect. I still think he will be a project but may come in with better skills than Crean or any of us anticipate.

Here is to hoping!

I don't expect Jurkin to do much on offense. However, I think he will be a solid role player in the post that will give this team a boost defensively. He is so tall and lengthy, but I remember seeing him on TV in some tournament. Turns out he is a lot more muscular than I originally thought. If he can work on his offensive game some more and stay healthy, then he will see a lot of minutes off the bench.

I would probably put him in the George Leach category right now, when Leach was a freshman coming in.

If he has Leach's hands of stone, then he's going to be just as useless on offense.

I forgot that, but I don't think he will be totally useless.
