| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! Cheers, sirbrianwilson Join our community! If you're already a member please log in to your account to access all of our features: |

Historically, interest rates have been raised and lowered to affect the desired changes, e.g. heating up or slowing down the economy. Sadly, politicians always want it to heat up more so they can get reelected. Now that rates are essentially zero, Obama's plan has been printing more money and spending "stimulus" dollars, effectively making the net interest rate negative. Now we know people and businesses are sitting on cash because they don't have confidence in our economy and Obama. Brian and Brum think Obama will win next Nov, but I think that is just homeristic wishing. If the Fed has kept interest rates higher during the 2000's, and if the fractional reserve percentage was higher, our economy would have kept a "better feel for the road" (staying with the suspension analogy), and the housing market bubble couldn't have been inflated so much. However, whenever you are talking about asset classes like stocks and real-estate, when an entire sector is priced based on the last purchase price, I don't see how bubbles can be avoided given the global nature of trading. For example, people in China can buy real estate in a US city, pushing up the prices. |

Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism. | |

You are only saying that because you are sleep deprived. You are programmed by your maker to get in there and squeeze out a few more for the team. Eventually, sex becomes more inviting than sleep again. |
